Thoughts and demo rides of wake / towsports boats: Moomba Max, Axis A22, MB Sports

@MattFX4 Something tells me that might be a tight fit in the garage :D. I see that cover uses the hang tyte system as well. I LOVE mine and I have never had a boat with hang tyte but I will never look back moving forward. Not having to deal with the anti pooling poles back there is so awesome being able to ratchet the cover up. My cover has an adjustable height anti-pooling pole for the bow but thankfully uses a simple snap on the top of the pole so that it snaps into the cover and stays in place. No having to run ropes or belts over to the cleats and then hope it stays centered!

Yesterday was the first time we used the sliding rear seat and the kids loved it!! I kind of wished I had splurged on my build and got the matching backrest but oh well that would just be one more thing to stow when not in use. Anyone out looking at these boats I would try to find one with some sort of "convertible" seating. I think most of the v drive mfg's have sliding rear seats by now and I love that it gives you seating options (and easy access to the v drive).

Damn they got launched!! :D

I had to be real easy on the little ones or I could have easily tossed them lol.

My sister was talking a little smack earlier in the day so when it came time for her turn I did adjust the wake plate a few times to create a nice little ramp surprise for her to hit and cross :D

@OrangeTJ @d_coyne1984 fyi I got a call from my dealer today that my Max uses a fuel pump (or maybe he said sending unit?) that has a safety recall on it. Apparently something wrong with the gasket and it could cause a fuel leak into the bilge. He said no one is to use their boat until they see if the gasket needs to be replaced or not. He mentioned this fuel pump or whatever is used on many different boat MFG’s MasterCraft, Supra, Moomba, Nautique, Malibu, Axis and others I think. Not sure if you guys are affected but just wanted to let you know in case you weren’t aware. Glad my dealer is on top of this kind of stuff because I don’t go digging for recalls often lol. It’s going to rain this weekend and I need to take it in for the break-in service so I’m getting my gasket inspected and replaced if needed at the same time.

Edit - apparently it is for fuel pumps with a manufacture date of Sept 2018 to May 2019 that could have the grommet / seal issue.

@haknslash so last week on my doomswell demo my mom came along. Well after she was me wakesurf she made a goal to want to wakesurf after her knee replacement. Well my dad mentioned it to me so I said shit we should split a boat. Well we went today to go pick up his new 911 carerra GT or whatever the fuck the $200k Porsche is. I'm not a car guy. Well the moomba dealer was on the way so we stopped in. Loved the Max but my.pops didn't like having to use more ballast that takes up a lot of the storage. Well they had a customers Makai in so we took a look. Long story short we are almost 100% going to take the June build slot. Just choosing exterior colors. Gonna trade my boat in a pay cash for the rest. My build is so far either all white or all blue with the brown interior.

Has your dad ever considered adopting me?

He and I own one of the largest B2B cannabis shows in the world. I own 10% but we have been very fortunate the last few years. This year we've hit record high in sales and have all but surpassed every year before this and it's barely June. You only live once and hes never been one to save. So I figure we can both win. We are going to split it so I also get my yamaha paid off and off my credit. Plus I'll get to show you guys such a pretty wake.

Just talked to my dealer. The makai is already gone. If I hadnt have went today I wouldn't have even seen that boat. Must meant to be. He also use to work where I bought my AR195 and said it will be a breeze to sell.

Thanks. I will definitely be hitting up my dealer on that.

@haknslash did you ever look at the Craz? I came across a Craz Pro that has caught my attention. Not really ready to buy, but hoping I can find a similar deal when I am. I’m torn, 242x or v-drive.. .

Craz pro is almost $20k more than a loaded Max. They are a sweet boat inside and out. If you will be using the boat to surf mostly then it should be a no brainer. It's if surfing is less than 50% of what you do on the boat it becomes a conversation.

I looked at the Craz when I was shopping but preferred the wide and taller hull of the Max. It just allows for tons of storage even if you run extra ballast. I also liked the offset dash of the Max which at the time the Craz did not have. The Craz is a nice boat.

I understand that completly but found one brand new in high 70’s. Doesn’t matter because I’m not ready to pull the trigger yet, but deff curious.

Wait you found a brand new craz pro in the 70s or a regular craz?

That's like $20k off msrp. I should buy it and flip it for an extra 10k.
