I cut the vinyl stripe back and installed a Beneteau seahorse graphic at the bow.
It’s all in the details.

It says Beneteau without spelling it out.

I am not responsible for the anchor rash inflicted prior to our ownerSHIP.

Flying the Forum flag at the marina. I know, it's on a sailboat and the two should not mix, but I am not one to care, opposites attract and I think it looks good. Wonder if the owner of the AR195 in the marina will see it.

Please excuse the wrong orientation of the camera. And the Slo-mo.

This seems like a good deal?

Signed up for ASA 105 online class. Will start in a week. Taking ASA 106 in a Month or two. Also taking ASA 114 this year at another sailing school out of Kemah just in case I want to sail a cat with some friends. No way I can afford a cat charter in my own!

At anchor at North Beach after the wind died.

New to us old boat in the fleet. Seller accepted our low ball offer on this 1985 Boston Whaler Outrage 18 today. 1985 115HP Yamaha 2-stroke with 2006 aluminum trailer. The hull needs some TLC, I can do that. The motor ran great today on the sea trial, better than I expected from a 37 yo motor. The single axle trailer has surge brakes. Some gel coat repair to the hull in a few places and a buff of the topside and a sand and repaint of the anti fouling bottom paint. Add a keel guard.

We are going to add a T top over the center console to start the mods. Maybe this one.

Hope to get some trouble free time out of the Yamaha before we repower with a 4-stroke.

Beautiful weather this weekend. Did some dinghy fishing out at the Burlington breakwater on Friday for some little fish.

Clipping in to the kill switch.

And a small largemouth on Thursday in the Whaler. Lost my favorite Mepps spinner to a 4’ Northern pike. He laughed at me and my light tackle. That is my fish story. Lol

Saturday the winds were 8-10kts and perfect for sailing. We were flying at 6-7kts all day. I could say our best day out on the lake in a while. A lot of fun yesterday.

The season is winding down on the lake. Trying to finish the weather cloths before haul out next week. I just need to pop rivet snap studs to the aluminum toe rail and install the snap buttons along the bottom edge of the cloth to snap to the toe rail.

Out at the boat today getting her ready for the 2023 season. Installed the wheel and Navpod at the helm. Finished a project we started last Fall. We put up our Bimini and went strapless. Got rid of the webbing straps and installed 1” ss struts and fittings.

A cleaner look and frees up the d-ring that the forward strap used that was originally designed to anchor the spinnaker sheet and block asm. to the deck. Willow modified the Bimini canvas with cutouts to accept the fittings at the aft zipper pocket.

If things work out, we will be looking to add one of these to the fleet. A PDQ 36 Classic, similar to this one out of Texas or Louisiana a while back.
That means selling the Beneteau, but this is alot more boat for 36’ versus the 35’ we have now. We are verifying that someone on the lake has a travelift wide enough to do a haul out first. Need hard verification that the 20’ max haulout on their Winter storage page is good. She is beamy, @18.25’.

That’s a lotta boat! Bet it would be a lot of fun while anchored in a cove. Any difficulty in getting dock space with the 18’+ beam or would you keep it on a mooring?

A new boat would give you the chance to once again do all the canvas projects that you did for the current boat. :)

I’m currently looking for a Precision 23, much, much smaller, but with a top speed of 65 mph (at least on the highway!)

Jim

Yes, they are nice blue water capable, cats. They go all over the World with these. We need more room. We can get dock space in a parellel parking dock or end of a dock, but price will dictate where we end up. We may end up on a mooring somewhere, depends on how much work there is to do. A slip makes work easier.

Yeah, besides, the Beneteau has so little to do on it now... likely you are bored. This would fix that problem!

Plus a cat! <drool>

Since you are posting info on the PDQ 36, can we assume the survey went well?

Have you made an offer on the boat?

Jim

Double the hull double the speed! No more 6 knots! I’m on a cat this weekend getting my 114. Next weekend a 54’ monohull to Catalina Island. Hope my wife doesn’t leave me!
