Yamaha Boat Loans Sold From Synchrony to Yamaha Motor Finance

I have been on hold for 45 min and counting. My login didn’t work per the instructions.

Got my letter yesterday. Went to the site to log in and was unsuccessful first several tries. Tried with YM, with and without dash and still couldn't get in. Finally tried lower case ym with dash and was successful. Site is pretty sad. Think it was designed by an elementary student on Commodore 64 back in 1990. Another example of how concerned Yamaha is with customer service.
Just tried lower case ym with a dash. I still can't get in.

On hold now with the 1-888-787-5565 number. Just told "My estimated wait time is more than 10 minutes"......We'll see where I get.

OK, I'm in to the website. Looks like they have me a payment behind (says I owe $609), but my payment remains unchanged at $304.50. So at least that part of it isn't screwed up. Best I can tell, the payment I sent in on the 20th of Dec wasn't credited to the account before it was sold to Yamaha. The letter I have from Yamaha is dated for the 4th of January (received on the 18th).

Still on hold with customer service though.

Use "YM-" and the account number on your OLD Synchrony statement. Then the password is the last 6 of your social.

Speaking of using the last 6 of my social. I noticed the website didn't have an https: at the start. Anyone know if this makes any more or less secure?

Should have https for encryption at log in screen and anytime logged into account.

Their website shows my interest rate at 2.99% yet my payment due reflects 5.99% interest rate which isn't scheduled to begin until April 2022.

Total hold time of 65min. Was basically told "We're getting the records imported now. Check again on Monday, if it's not showing paid by then call us back".....

Wife was able to call the bank, get the trace number on the bill pay and verify it was accepted on the 23rd. Interesting enough the bank said it was paid to "Yamaha Financial Services" and not Synchrony like previous payments.

What a pain in the ass.

Got my letter today. I had already sent my check to Synchrony on the 14th. Had to go online and cancel the check with my bank. Thanks for the heads up!!

I have tried every which way with no luck!

Check you previous Synchrony statement and try that account number with YM- at the front. My letter from Yamaha had the wrong account number on it, but the "correct" one shows online. Yamaha Financial was off by one digit (the last one).

Thank you, I was finally able to login. It appears the current payment is already set at the 5 year step up payment when the rate goes from 2.99% to 5.99% which is not suppose to occur till 2/25/2022. So it looks like I will be making a phone call and sending a copy of the original note.

Thanks for the above. Able to save 65 minutes by following the thread and login in the correct way. Yes - very amateur by Yamaha finance. My payment is also higher - but the loan shows my interest is still at 2.99, so as long they apply it to principal - i'm good paying it down faster.
Do we have to call Syncrony and shutoff our payments them (that will be a 45 minute phone call)??

Thanks for the login advice, I was able to access my account after several previous failed attempts. My payment is also higher so I plan to call tomorrow for an explanation.

Be prepared for no explanation. Customer service is going to advise you to email your original loan agreement to yamaha@acct-admin.com where they will review it and get back to you. I doubt they’re going to try and contact me. So I’ll be calling back and wasting 2 more hours of my life waiting on hold

Who has a professional business domain and names it as generic as "acct-admin.com"????

You sure y'all aren't getting scammed by a Nigerian prince named Larry? Seriously though something does not seem right about that domain. You sure it's not flipped the other way around as in acct.admin@Yamaha dot com? Maybe for a high school project but not for a professional consumer business. I hope none of y'all are giving out SS#'s.

I called Synchrony with my original contact info. They verified it was transfered back to Yamaha. Yamaha for some reason isn't dealing with Synchrony bank anymore

I get that but I'm just saying that this all seems a bit strange with the unsecure website and fishy domain use of "@acct.admin.com". Maybe he got it backwards but just seems very amateurish from a website and customer portal.

Even though is seems like its not secure because there is no http before it when you type it in i just checked it shows when you highlight the address after you are directed there it shows the http

All of this makes me seriously glad we didn't finance the boat, and Synchrony flat-out sucks. I have a Lowes account that uses them, and as someone else said, they are the only company that doesn't seem to have up-to-date methods for making payments. As ridiculous as it sounds, they sound BETTER than the company that's taking over all of your loans! Hope you all get this resolved successfully.
