Hey everyone, I am looking at a 2018 FSH 190 that has a faulty connext screen. I know they are pricey to replace and repair and wanted to see if anyone has replaced the connext screen with traditional gauges? I realize the engine codes etc would no longer be accessible but as far as speed, tach, fuel and battery voltage what else could be missing? Any input is appreciated

Pretty sure others have investigated replacing the screen with an aftermarket and found it not possible. Seems Yamaha uses a proprietary bus. Someone here did figure out a way to use that bus, but it was a pretty involved process with a box converting between the busses... Not sure if that would work for your year or not.

Anyway, unless you are very strong in the DIY and electronics, probably not viable.

I read that guys post a while back and he really knew his stuff to be able to get the outputs to talk to regular gauges.

Yeah, even with his excellent writeup and what I think are pretty ok DIY and electronics skills... I took one look at that ($1500 or so?) box and all he did... and said nevermind.
