FSH 210 and noco 5x2 charger

Nope, haven't made any mods other than ditching the phone booth and adding a bimini, troller, electronics and keel guard, all done by the dealer.
Boat works great, not messin with the electrical system, (modifing the dvsrthingus).
A decent sized amp output alternator would only take 2 hp per our previous conversation, would be a nice improvement and eliminate a bunch of quirky concerns.

Much appreciate the write-up, did this over the weekend. Biggest challenge was getting an 18g wire to apply to a larger clip that could connect to the pole. That and getting those bloody back caps to stay in one piece when screwing it back in!

I have read these threads several times and I want to be double sure before I do the mod as shown in post #4 @Yammi . I added a NOCO 5x2 battery charger with leads going directly to both batteries. My start battery is an AGM battery, and my house battery is a Lead Acid battery. I DID NOT DO THE MOD. When I power the Noco up both batteries appear to charge and reach the solid green indication. The batteries then go to Over Voltage warming light for a few seconds then turns off. The power light illuminates for 2 seconds, then the charging process restarts. The cycle repeats.

If I do the mod as shown in post #4, then the batteries will charge independently by Noco when the starter and house switches are turned to the off position. When the Noco is no longer powered on and boat is running, the batteries will charge through the boats electrical system in series (?).

This electrical stuff is not my strong spot, so I just want to make sure before I cut any wires.

So right now without the mod, both batteries are charging as one. This works, but it’s hard on the batteries.

With the mod the batteries charge individually. By tying it back to the battery switch, you don’t have to remember to do anything, it’s automatic. When the battery switch is off the NOCO works. When the battery switch is on, the DVSR works.

The reddish pink wire on the back of the battery switch is very thin, probably 14-16 gauge.

Its actually more like 20-22 guage. Its really thin.

I have one more quick question.

The Noco 5x2 is installed and the mod has been completed. Now when the batteries are off and no power plugged in the red DVSR light is off. When the power is plugged in to house power the batteries charge and the DVSR light is on. When I unplug the house power the light goes off.

Now the question...When I turn the battery switch on, the DVSR the red light comes on. Would this lead me to believe that the connections I made with the pink wire over to the B screw post are good. I don't know how to check if my connections are solid.
