    Just picked up a 2005 SX230 - oil light on I think

@Sdrolet You could take the top of the oil cooler off and check the strainer (part #7). That can be done without removing the engine. I would even reuse the rubber o-rings. They can be spot permatexed, if need be, to reassemble.

    Backing Plate Material and Adhesive

Tapering the ends helps. Definitely round the corners. What you're trying to avoid is a large and abrupt change in thickness. This creates a stress concentration area with factors in the 1.2 to 5.0 range (depends on thickness, load, etc). The smoother you make that transition in thickness the...

Replacing Plate #2 Fiber Glass repair Spinning bolt inserts

I am looking for thoughts/Ideas on how to approach this I have a fairly decent leak in my 2012 Yamaha 242 LS, after some investigation, I discovered the leak is coming from the "skid" plates under the jet units ( Yamaha part number #F2D-U273B-00-00, #32 in the schematic) . So i bought the...

    2021 212SE Intake Hose Identification

In picture #2, the line below the red tubing, in the black wire loom, that is most likely your cooling water intake. If it is, it would route to your transom, on the port side of your pump. Just on the other side of the bulk head (engine compartment) you should see both of these hoses...

    252SE - Need Part Numbers

Can someone help me find these part numbers? #1: The "Yamaha" chrome lettering on the swim deck (by the tow point) - the "Y" fell off. Can I get just the Y? Maybe I can just get some thin two sided tape? #2: The stick down mat where the cooler goes, in grey.

210 FSH Aft Sun Shade Kit?

I ended up cancelling my order for the Yamaha Aft Shade since it's been MIA for a few months and instead I just received the OS Bimini Extension Kit. I purchased the wider version (6.8' #2) so we'll see how much overlap there will be over/under the t-top and if I can use for both the bow and aft...

Akaso Brave 4 4K 20MP camera, GoPro alternative

Good to know....I'll buy one of these before I buy another GoPro.....as #goprosucks I have a Karma Drone paper weight because gopro pushed an update to it that killed it, then they shut down the Karma group and wont fix it. Did I mention I hate GoPro? LOL

Does anyone know if Yamaha makes something like this? Really cool concept!

Our jet boat engines can be read with a special cable and YDIS software. #YDS https://jetboaters.net/faq/#faq-27

Just started digging into the 2021 SX250/AR250 audio system

#1: I don't have a definite answer. I have seen t-taps do weird things. They can cause a change in resistance, which could cause an issue. When you take them off, make sure the wire is still solid and then wrap it up with electrical tape. #2: That harness goes into a bigger harness, so hard to...

    ECU compatibility question

I think those are inaccuracies within the Yamaha service manual. For example, the 2005 FXHO waverunner manual states that Pin #32 is a Black/Orange wire, but in reality it was blank on my waverunner's ECU. Page 7-13 of the 2007 service manual you sent me indicates two Black/Yellow wires. There...

    Another lectrotab install.

Thanks again to mark west, I definitely felt safer knowing I could follow someone’s step by step instructions. I even had the IPad by the boat for reference. 👍 Even tho I suck with computers, There are a cpl ideas I had that may help with this job. One thing is that I found what might be an...

    The Vaccine

You know, this is a tough one... (but it really shouldn't be) I've read the whole thread - and it took quite some time., but it's been eye opening. Now I feel that even though this is going to be lengthy, there's so much I need to get off my chest! The OP's original question was about...

Things That Cause Cavitation and How to Avoid Them

I know this is a discussed subject here but I have a different question/thought about it. I have a 2012 210SX that I bought in the fall and had it in the water like 3x. I noticed that the port engine RPM's would shoot up if I hit the throttle aggressively and after posting here, I learned it...

Polished Stainless Boat Registration Numbers - Coast Guard ok with them?

If USCG registered, you have a name and hailing port that is to be applied to the exterior of the hull, usually on the transom. With that name you choose, the USCG also gives you a 6 or 7 digit number, our sailboat has a 6 digit number from when it was registered with them in the 90's. That...

    The Vaccine

This is a fascinating article (REALLY LONG) that gets into all sorts of analysis on the pandemic. I urge you all to read as much as you can (its 21 chapters). Some of my takeaways: Really interesting to read how they developed the vaccine so quickly-basically its been in the works for over 10...

    Help with choosing a battery

Not really but that depends on you and how you use the boat. Do you ride the boat 10 min then just sit all day then 10 min back? If so then you would probably be better off with 24’s i guess but thats a problem for any battery. If you actually use the boat then you would have no issues with...
