I would love to go on this run with my new boat, but unfortunately I'm on vacation in a much warmer climate during your run. I'll be looking forward to many other runs next year around the Indiana-Illinois group members. Good luck...hope it's fun!

Nope, not only do I have a brand new boat, I am a brand new boater too. I've had plenty of friends with some boats to go out on, but never my own boat. I just purchased and since I'm going to be on vacation, the dealer offered to winterize and store for free this season. In the spring they will prep the boat and remove the hydro turf upper head mat for free so I can install my SeaDek, and Thrust Vectors before I hit the water. We can definitely get together in the spring or meet up prior so I can get some boating tips!
Hi @shane hric! I'm just a couple hours south of you. I'm already planning to try and hook up with @Speedling next summer and get out on the lake. It would be cool to meet up with you too. We could have our own little Yammie get together. Man, I cannot wait for next summer! It's gonna be even better than this summer was!!
Our daughter has a conflict and won't be coming. Just the wife and I. Not sure I will surf without daughters help. Please don't come early on my account.
We will be there early in case anyone needs help launching.
Attached is a list of notes pertaining to the trip that may be helpful to new families.
Hello Everyone! I have a question and favor to ask too! My warmer weather vacation plans have been shifted a couple days and now my 4 year old daughter and I are available for this trip! Here's the issue...our new boat was placed in storage when purchased and thus...no boat! Could we join anyone on their boat for the trip?
Since we've had a few offers, My daughter Olivia and I will travel down and meet up with the boaters and jump on board. Thanks @Speedling and @buckbuck!
Every year, in October, we have a run on the Illinois river from Starved Rock Park in Peru, IL to Peoria IL. This is a 78 mile trip. It usually takes us 2 or so hours to cruise down. We eat lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and head back up. It is usually a nice relaxing pace. In 2013 we had 13 boats participate and approximately 60 people!

This year the trip will be scheduled for Saturday October 10, 2015. We will plan to leave Starved Rock at 9:00 am. Everyone should plan on getting there between 8:15 am - 8:30 am, so that we can launch and be ready to go by 9 am. We always encourage boaters to dress in layers. We usually always start off in sweats and end up in t-shirts by afternoon.
Hello everyone, as I mentioned below, since my warmer weather vacation plans have adjusted a few days, my 4 year old daughter Olivia and I will be attending this run! The only catch is we need a ride since our boat is in storage for the winter due to our vacation plans. A few boaters have offered so I just wanted to let you know we will be attending.
We are not gonna make it this year. Bummer too, the weather looks great. Maybe next year. Anyone ever do this run in the spring? To burn out the old fuel.
