Discussion of taking firearms to Bimini

I'm kinda contradicting myself as the thought had crossed my mind, that in the scenario we're anchored alone and overnight, we could be a victim and easy pickings but I didn't want to blot my vision in paradise. @Bennie you explain the reasons perfectly, I'm an outsider when it comes to subjects like guns and its totally alien to me.
I have some good friends in the US and this has lead me to love your country and visit as often as I can. I have always respected their way of life, indeed it would be rude and discourteous for me to even comment but it was the taking a gun into another country that threw me, in all honestly I will probably obtain a weapon of some sort, it's just the real world interfering with my dreamworld :D.

How true! Wish for the best - prepare for the worst.
Like most, I hope to never use any weapon I ever carry. Thank you sir for understanding. I hope we are all able to fully enjoy our trips abroad.

Should be a pretty easy spot up under a storage compartment to mount one of these. It's a Remington 870 Marine. Synthetic stock and nickel plated for corrosion resistance. I got a great deal on a slightly used one.

Nobody would know it's stashed away unless you told them. 6 rounds of 00 buck on deck.

I like to be prepared.

I believe it is a $10K fine and possible jail time if you get caught with an undeclared firearm in Bahamian Waters. They take you straight to jail and I doubt you get your boat back until you pay the fine plus towing and storage fees.

I would not want to sit in jail in paradise missing my rum rations.

I holistically agree with @Bruce. Rum first!

However - for US waters.. I LIKE THAT GUN! (officially on the wish list)

Absolutely not....I meant for general coverage while on the boat. There can be some pretty rowdy drunk rednecks in Panama City beach!

Toss the drunks a jug of rum and watch the fun!
