Same here! I want one, can’t wait to order! Should I still keep my wakebooster on order too?

We have not tested in concert with the wake booster but fo not foresee any issues with using them together. We'll test as soon as we can get our hands on a booster.

Who do you have your WB ordered with?

I should have clarified, I have asked Open Road Recreation in Regina, Saskatchewan to get me one ASAP. They are telling me that Yamaha says they can’t be ordered yet though, so I don’t have an official order yet.

In the end though, that may be no big deal, if this does the job without needing the wakebooster, then I’ll probably skip it anyways since this gets me TVs and is a heck of a lot more reasonable!

Why not have a 4th adjustment where there is no deflection at all.
No one wants to lose MPH/MPG all the time.

So anybody wanna buy a set of thrust vectors off my 2019 242x with one trip on them.... how about an exchange program Will :)
I’m with the idea of the exchange program after dropping significant cash on a set of vectors earlier this year. This is so cool. For tubing too!!

I assume twin engine boats will need a set of two? I’m am also slightly concerned with speed loss. But very good product.

Will look further into this but we have not noted performance losses as of yet. We'll spend more time documenting this as we move forward.

This is great showed my wife on way home from concert... she said but it's just to surf, I said NO its to tube andwakeboard, BUT WAIT there is more! It will help with low speed maneuvering as well.

The interesting tidbit bit from webpage.

Though in the early stages of validation, we can confirm that when the third setting is selected the bow of the boat is lowered which makes for a smoother ride at higher speeds and in rough water.

Wonder if the second stage would be good middle ground to smooth some but not put bow down to far for a bimini trip.

I hardly run WOT so if it smooths the wake for wakeboarding and I can still go 25-30mph without to much fuel consumption loss might be what is used on busy weekends as well.

Edit: @swatski I’m curious about the using the L13 with this product. My understanding is the L13 would create somewhat of a cleaner jetwash that could amplify the results by using the deflecter.
I'm just poring over the newly released info here. Very interesting, I'm impressed with @JetBoatPilot's creativity!

The L13 does not change or effect jet wash. Albeit some bore the venturi a bit larger, but would have virtually no effect on cleaning jet wash, basically zero.

This new device looks to be a manual, unidirectional diverter. I have to think about it, but at first look I am 100% positive one would still need the Gatlin Wake Wedge (and of course ballast, more if anything because of the stern lift/rise due to the deflector action) to generate the best wave.

The boat will still need to be listed (to make the best surfing wave) so it will be interesting to see how adjusting the two sides deferentially may possibly have an impact - I would think going #2 or 3 on the surf/ballasted side may be in order (with the non-surf side at #1)? We will see - when people start testing.

One of the potential benefits with this type of a deflector/diverter mounted on the steering nozzle(s) is that it turns with the nozzle(s). When the boat is listed on the surf side it tends to oversteer to that side which in turn requires a correction - countersteer - which (in this case) may help push water away towards the non-surf side.

So, at least in theory, it could induce a "delayed convergence" effect!

That is the holy grail for jet boat surfing - because the conventional way of creating it (delayed convergence induction by a "wedge" mounted on the non-surf side of the stern/hull) does not work as the countersteer is in the opposite direction, ruining the wave. (I can explain it better, I'm sure, just putting quick thoughts down here).

If that is the case, that would be great. But only real water testing will tell, I have seen so many things look promising on the drawing board. This could be it though, I think!

@swatski the interesting thing is its acting as a wedge, but because of speed difference with surfing wakeboarding and tubing the different angles allow it to still wash the jet spray down. Position 1 seems like it would be close to having nothing on when going over x speed due to angle.

I dont have a wedge just ballast so cant speak for how that is besides seeing the video.

For some who have the vectors/wedge they have spent more. For someone who is newer its 2 birds with 1 stone, and if has the ability to manually "trim" and help in rough water 3n1.

For me personally I dont know that I could get my wife to spend 800 on a wedge just to surf, but the low speed steering as well with this is a 2 for 1 she can understand. I think that is the selling point even if wake isnt as clean as wedge it will be better then nothing.

@JetBoatPilot will this work with the new 2019 redesigned OEM pumps?

I really do not see this as a "surfing mod", at least not yet.
In theory, it could help induce delayed convergence which would be amazing but it may or may not do that (enough) vs lifting the stern and/or pushing the water down instead of to the side. Who knows. This would need to be empirically tested/demonstrated.

Do I buy this will deflect jet wash water down? Yes!

At what expense? IDK. But, for many who just wake board and/or pull kids that could be the ticket!

Will it enhance the surf wake beyond what we know we can get with Gatlin wedge? IDK.
It would be fantastic, revolutionary even. But - I doubt it (to be completely honest). We will see!

Why do you say this? I don't necessarily disagree, and it's still speculation at this point, but it seems to me this might accomplish the same thing? And on both sides? I was honestly hoping for something that would impact the size of the wave, maybe to the point of ditching the swimdeck bag, but I if I could get a clean wave on both sides without buying another wedge or stopping to switch it to the other side, I'd be in.

Me too, lol. But this is not it.

It could still work great and help with surf wave quality. We will see.
But, I do not see it as a substitute for listing the boat, so pumping the ballast on one side will still be required (for the best surfing wave), I think. And then you may or may not need the Wedge or the WakeBooster but I will be surprised if this device or the WakeBooster are better than the Wedge. Or even come close. (for surfing that is)

Will, to get this product on a 19’ with a rudder, do you need the remove the rudder for install? I realize you don’t lose the rudder as you put it back on but from my prior experience with the lateral thruster it was the worse part of the install.
