The sandbar we go to is a ICW with the strong currents ripping from the gulf.
I've not had it in currents. @seanmclean recommended it to me and I know he uses it in the river against tide/flow as well so maybe he can comment.
When I"m near a sandbar/beach. I usually run it up onto the beach. The self impact handle is what makes it so awesome.
I use mine in a river that has strong tidal flow (+/- 7-9'), works great - but I would not use it submerged with heavy current. Mine holds very strongly in wet sand, but as soon as waves start breaking over it, gets dislodged easily. I try to set it above the high tide line when possible, and just adjust the amount of rode as needed when tide comes in/out - Danik hook is awesome for this.

Spent all morning installing the VHF radio & antenna. Drilled & tapped holes on top of tower for the antenna mount. Used SS socket bolts with blue loc tite to secure them. Ran the antenna wire through the tower into the helm & back to the radio and pulled power from my fuse block by the batteries. Flush mounted the radio onto a plate for easy access, just remove 4 screws compared to trying to work blindly from underneath for removal of the radio. 4’ stick on top of the tower put it at 11.5’ above the deck, should be high enough and most importantly flying the JBN flag. 4C0F729D-8960-480E-B438-E8E79D30C4BE.jpeg26FC23F6-9858-4C7F-9805-7BC1317AA64E.jpegC6EBBDBA-35F1-44D8-8651-1B83F5E96A6F.jpeg83EA1D16-5A0E-4291-BC30-8CA2A73999B3.jpeg0F323C80-B74F-4C03-8B4D-6A4864070B0B.jpegA5635D94-4147-4ABA-9D34-BCA524B27963.jpeg93ABBD55-D999-4C76-9376-DFB817E144CD.jpeg4CFAB9FB-7F9B-4F9B-AE1E-A639A9289DD7.jpeg

Nice! Luv the additional height.
FYI...They sell rubber grommets to protect the cord from the metal edge and to help from getting moisture in there.

Thought about the grommets but I’ll be putting connectors where the top 1/2 meets the bottom 1/2 of the tower due to removal for storage and when I do that I’ll be putting an armor wrap around the cable where it enters the tower. The tower has drain holes also so not too worried about moisture.

Afternoon project: Complete oil change.

Ordered a 12v oil extractor from Amazon and is all I can say is it’s well worth the $$. No more pumping the old tank style extractor until your arm falls off. Just hook up the hoses, attach the supplied gator clips to the battery, flip a switch and watch it pump into a container of your choice. I used an old 5qt oil jug. Got all I could from the top and drained the rest into a small pan from the rear drain plug & used the pump to suck that up as well. Dripped maybe 1Tbs throughout the whole process.
While I had the hose going I tested both bilge pumps again, let them cycle a few times and they both push water good.

Like this idea. How was the install for these, any major modifications? Did you wire them to a new switch or current cabin lighting?

I have been pretty busy the last few days. I’m getting ready for the boating season. Boat is very dirty but waiting to clean and wax after all is complete.
My list:
  • Replaced scupper valve with stainless
  • Installed bilge pump (in bilge)
  • Replaced jet nozzles with aluminum
  • Replaced bilge thru hulls with aluminum
  • Installed boat plug light
  • Replaced connext and added jet pilot cover
  • Removed stickers (to get ready for boat name)

  • I still have a few more things to do but that’s it for now8861CFE6-AA2C-4DFB-A529-215DE50C6F33.jpeg97E118F8-4C86-44A9-86D0-3763A2059293.jpeg93919D44-1333-4CF9-8E67-CA27BE6C364A.jpegA99F8B0B-811F-45B6-A059-FD69B31E1A19.jpeg

Can you elaborate on this item?
