Hello fellow JetBoaters;
I am looking at considering a Yamaha FSH Sport.
First time jet boater and don't know much about them.
However, have boated for longer than I care to remember and know my way around boats.
I have a few questions that perhaps someone on this forum can answer.
How does the boat behave in a 2-3 foot chop? In these conditions, is it a wet boat on deck?
Primary use for my wife and I will be Island hopping throughout our Gulf Island in BC Canada.
The little change area under the console, can this facilitate a small porta potty?
Reading a number of Forum threads here regarding engine reliability and performance seems great with only minor issues? If someone has some specific issues they think are worthwhile to mention, please do.
Any suggestions, comments, concerns are much appreciated.

I've had one since about 7/1/2021.
The little change area under the console, can this facilitate a small porta potty? - Yes with room to spare. The console are is really pretty big even without the curtain. There;s a guy who converted the live well into a freshwater tank and showers in the console.
How does the boat behave in a 2-3 foot chop? - There are YouTube videos of people taking this boat from Florida to the Bahamas. I think you'll get bounced a bit. But not scary bad. 2-3 seas - guys fishing, 2-3 miles out yes. Wife - Nope. (Just me)
My only complaint so far is the drink holders don't have drain hoses so water can end up in unwanted spaces. There are multiple solutions to fix this.

@YamSport OP has a FSH 19 Sport which is far different in hull design than your 25' FSH and very much lighter.

NO worries. Just want the OP to get solid info for his purchase. Although @GulfIslander a 21' Foot FSH would handle the water better. And of course the 25' FSH is amazing.

I have a 210 FSH Sport, but some things are similar between the 210 and the 19.

As far as 2-3’ chop, @fatboyroy can chime in as he goes off shore quite a bit. For me, 2-3’ chop is handled pretty well, I maintain roughly 21-22 mph in the 2’ chop, if it starts getting up around 3’ or bigger I will slow down to around 15 mph and it cruises right along. Keeping the deck dry is pretty easy, if the wind is blowing pretty strong you may have to alter your course a bit to keep the wind from picking up the spray and throwing it over onto the deck.

I think this boat will be a great boat for you and your wife to island hop in. The center console makes the boat feel very open and roomy.

I’m pretty sure the 210 and the 19 share the same console design for the most part, I have a porta potty / cassette type toilet, as @TomP says there is some room to spare. I keep my dry bags in there with my other gear, so if I or a passenger needs to use the bathroom I just pull a couple of bags out and they are good. I bought the smallest one they had at Cabela’s and if I were to do it again or go on longer outings I’d probably opt for the bigger one as it is taller, but the one I have works just great and it is super easy to clean out.

There have been a couple of guys with some issues on their 19 FSH’s but they are minor and or just annoying.

I would go and check out both the 19 and the 210 FSH’s if you can before you buy. I chose the 210 over the 19’ because I wanted that bow seating for my guests. And as it turns out, I enjoy those seats as well when I am coved up and relaxing. I’m thinking of going with the JBP casting deck / sun pad kit, as this will give me a place to sleep on the boat.

If you have not seen these test vids by boat test they are well worth the time to watch.

2019 210 FSH Sport: This one does show some action in 12-18“ chop.

2-3 foot chops as long as it’s 5 second or more interval is doable with 19 ft. I even got caught in 3-5 ft wave (forecast is 2ft) And I did ok I had to slow down considerably to not stuff the bow and have to quarter the waves (45 degree angle). But for me 2 ft forecast is the only time I go offshore but be prepared for unexpected waves could get bigger.

I just want to second . . . . YouTube is your friend. I watched every video I could find on the 190, 195, and 210 before purchasing and 195S. Any video that I watched, I checked out the poster to see if they posted other Yamaha videos and watched them. I bookmarked everything that I watched. The questions that I finally had for the dealer, he had to make phone calls to get the answer.

My only pre-purchase mistake I made was not spending more time on this board. There's a lot of wisdom here. A wise person would spend a lot of time in both places.

YouTube is a great thing.
