I also got around to installing the Marine Mat kit from @JetBoatPilot this past weekend. If you haven't seen the dragon scales, its a pretty cool look. Love how all the mats tie into each other.

The reverse gate cable sleeve I made out of a brake caliper pin sleeve is working well after one trip. Kept it dry.

It got a little twisted and folded weird on the top end but it's not hurting anything.

This is not the greatest design from Yamaha, but with the entire drive system under water, how else can you stop water from coming in. Standing water inside these components is no good, especially salt water. Great idea.

Yeah I was disappointed that this 19 had rubber sleeves that were rotted and splitting and falling off. With this sleeve, it'll hold water if it does leak. On one hand it's nice because if I check it I'll know it's not sealing anymore. On the other, I have to remember to check it!

Filling it full of grease would be ideal, but it's hard enough to install, I don't think I'd be able to fill it full of grease.
 
Some child labor was used today

changed the plugs in my ratty ole boat... as port #1 failed the drop cylinder test... and was about 200 RPM down on idle... new plugs and all is well...
they were all pretty worn on the electrodes so i replaced all of them at 70.5 hours since the re-power... I cant believe how much smoother they run with new plugs...

How much are you guys paying for window tint? Getting quotes from $300 to $900
 
Dude, I hope this was worth it. It was a pain in the ass install.

(Edit: if it does work well, I plan to do the floor panel & ski locker door next…should be much easier.)

I hope so…it took about 4 hours, and an aching back.
 
I hate to say it but I doubt you’ll any improvement, might be worse with foam gone. That type of deadening is meant to stop resonating on metal panels. You really need some CCF and MLV to stop sound. You will need to replace the foam for sure.

Well that sucks.
CCF seems like the easier install of the 2...assuming it bonds to the foil surface.

soundskins makes a CCF/dampening later. MLV is very heavy so it would be tough to install but yield by far the best results.

I also could be wrong…..theory doesn’t always plan out in real world lol
