2018 Charleston Pinopolis Lock Cooper River Run/ Hilton Head Gathering 5/12 and 5/13 2018

So for those launching at Hills Landing with @Andy S I called there today and spoke to one of the owners Kristi she said that the launch fee was $3 and that you guys were fine to park over night after launching she said for no additional fee all she asked is that when you pay for launch let her know so she can direct you where to park so you you do not block anything or anyone. I did tell her that there would be several boats and trailers so it would not be a surprise and she was good with it.

Thanks for clarifying. $3 is cheap for launch and overnight parking somewhere private.

Do I need to show you the pile of stuff I have bought for bimini? Its bigger now! And that's not counting the boat mods.. I told the kids we may have to go back to his and hers trees in the back yard!

I understand this I had to outfit a new boat this year as well. I need an extended run to make sure all mods are working and I understand how to use them so that's why I'm going on this run and you should be there as well. What good is buying all that stuff and staring at it put it to use big guy you don't want the gulf stream to be its first real test do you that sounds like a terrible idea.

We would have to drop anchor in the intercoastal and sleep on the boat.. And then practice the draft on the way back..

I'm gonna bring 5 gallons and strap to back deck just to have extra umph. I'm down for stopping in Beaufort and wherever I'm sure my kids will be ready to do anything. Maybe get them an ice cream and fill up in beaufort.

So, I'm playing with Navionics (first time) on my ipad and trying to figure out how to get these points in there... I'm stumped. Can anyone offer a short tutorial? Or, direct me to one. When I go to Search for Lat/Long within Navionics, the options that I see there don't line up with the numbers above. ?

Thanks!

The Lat/Long navionics uses is in a different format I can't remember if you can change that or not but honestly navionics on the ipad is so easy to use and so well labeled I wouldn't even mark these points. Just hot route, automatic and pick your points and go. All the marinas and points are listed in navionics if you hit the little search glass in the top left and in the search box type shelter cover it will pull the marina.

Checking son out of school. We should be to santee about 5 or so stopping for lunch/taking time.

Well, looks like I’m out. We’ve got about 7 hours left on the drive and having trailer problems. Going to have bearings/brakes checked in the morning. So, no way we can catch up. Everybody have a great run!

Dropped at the trailer repair shop

Major bummer @BigAbe75 sorry you had trouble. We were camping two weeks ago and saw a Seismic fifth wheel like the one next to your boat. It registered a 6.8 on the Richter Scale as it drove by.

I sure hope everyone has a great time tomorrow and I wish I could have made it. I look forward to seeing several of you in the deep blue at the end of June.

It’s actually a relief to be stopped. I hate missing out, but felt like we were pushing our luck. I guess I’d rather get it taken care of right, than have a wheel lock up or catch fire on the road. I’m just glad it’s my brother and I, and not the whole family. 3 kids in the back fighting or constantly asking what we’re doing just adds to the aggravation level in an already stressful driving situation.

We spent 3 hours on the phone and driving to shops trying to find someone that could help out this afternoon. Finally found an RV shop 30 minutes before they closed. He said he could look at it in the morning. After meeting him in person and walking around the trailer, I really feel like he knows his business. So, I’m hopeful we’ll be on the road by noon.

New plan is to head back toward home and hit Kentucky Lake Sat afternoon and Sunday before heading home. I’ve never been there before, so we’ll still get some time in the boat on a new body of water.
