We’re retired and have about 2-3 more Jersey winters in us. I’m road tripping cross country in July and I’m going to check out the scene down there. Because of cost, we’re not going to be lakefront, but we’d like to be a walkable distance (1 mile) to a marina. Which side of the lake do you suggest i house hunt?
cheers, Rick

thx again:)

It's been a while since I've been down there but I think there is only one marina on the NE side. But Antioch is on the SE side and it's not known to be the safest area. Also quite a bit of public land around the lake so not too many houses within a mile of a marina but Elm Hill marina should have something. Have you looked around Old Hickory?

Just stumbled across this...how was your road trip? I live in the area and have had slips on both Old Hickory and Percy (current slip on Percy). We like Percy Priest lake better, but prefer the marinas on Old Hickory. That said, if I was looking for a house near a marina I would definitely be looking in Hendersonville which is Old Hickory Lake, much nicer area than those that surround Percy Priest. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
