AR195 Build Mods

Great job all around. See a few things you've done that I would love to do to mine!

CJS Viper Steering System
  1. Cost $159.00
  2. Website: CJS VIPER Steering System
  3. Reasoning: I wanted improved steering at low and high speeds. Mainly at high speeds when turning and the ability to retrieve a down skier/boarder/tuber.
    1. Note: In the picture I managed to hit a piece of wood at WOT two weeks before a week long camping trip. I contacted Jeff with CJS and he dropped everything to fix my system and shipped it out immediately. Great customer service and very happy with the product.

Does the Viper steering help with reverse at all?

Not overly, it adds two additional fins so it is a little better.
As far as slow speed handling, you are happy with the Viper? I am thinking of the Viper as well because they are a lot cheaper than the JBP version. I am kind of waiting to see the new wake edition before I decide.

@chrisinslc
I have been very happy with the Viper at slow and high speed. I primarily got so I could turn sharp while under speed to retrieve a down wakeboarder when it’s busy. I have the thrust vector wake on order and looking so see what the difference is.

Sounds good, I think I will probably just go with the Viper for the cost difference

Does the Viper steering help with reverse at all?

I ordered and installed a Lateral Thrust Vector during the last group buy and that had vastly helped improved reverse. I don't have any fins installed so I have no say about them but if you're looking to primarily improve reverse, I would highly recommend the lateral thrust vectors. It has made boat launch and docking a lot more controlled.

What kinda MPH increase did you see after doing the ribbon delete and related mods?
I ran two test today with the Lucky 13 installed
1st test: no spacer installed
Elevation: 50’
Outside temp: 40 degrees
Water temp: 48 degrees
RPMs: 6,600 - 6,650
GPS: 50.8 mph
Reduced cavitation

2nd test: all spacers installed
Same elevation and temps
RPMs: 6,550 - 6,600
GPS: 50.0 mph
Zero cavitation and the boat just launched, I was amazed.

Conditions: smooth water with no wind. Full tank of gas, 200 lbs passenger and 150 lbs of gear.

I was very surprised with the ribbon delete, k&n filter and lucky 13 that I didn’t see any increase in MPH. However was blown away by how the boat just launched with all the spacers installed.

Yep. When dialed in, the L13 is a real beast! I posted two clips of before and after at some point, it was amazing difference (once everything is dialed in.

Man, you must have one of the nicest 195 out there, hands down!!!!

Interesting. I have also heard before that the ribbon delete doesn't give as big of a performance boost on supercharged engines. Yours is the first 195 that I have seen with these mods though, most are on AR192. Zero cavitation always nice though :)

@swatski We purchased a new house last June and now I'm able to store the boat in the garage. So having such easy access and looking at each day has lead to some serious summer fever! I have following mods planned before summer as long as my wife doesn't catch on.

- Thrust Vector Wake - On order
- Helm Storage Door - March
- Helm Cup holder - March
- Samson reverse arch mirror - April
- Ballast Bags for under the rear seats - April
- Ballast Bag for the ski locker - April

Do u have part number for the helm storage door?

That thing looks great. I have the same one at home ready to go in my 190.

What did you level the door with. Seems like the floor doesn't match the top of the console that doesn't match the top of the door on the other side.
I opened the center ski locker and placed a ruler in the lip as my based point for measuring. I believed I used the same distance as the stock door as my starting point.

I hear @Outonthereef has a good template.

Got it. Thanks. Your spacing looks really good. Really factory look.
