Too costly and frankly not attractive at all. Those side glass areas are (in my opinion) the ugliest things i have seen out of Yamaha, dont like the square loungers, and gas at $4 gallon, 90 gallons is $360 for a day of water sport play, but I did like the in water seats. $129,000 that's exactly $100,000 more than my 2006.

I agree 100% on the looks, it is an ugly boat. I was really hoping for a lot more from Yamaha on this boat and am very disappointed. My next boat will be 25-27ft, so it looks like I'll be going back to a stern drive
I think if Yamaha upped the size of the pumps and got back to a naturally aspirated engine the performance and consumption would be better. Remember the old jet boats? Throwing tails and hauling ass. Berkley Pumps and torque = I feel the need for speed!
If you actually go to the article, you will learn that at 31MPH, the boat gets 1.8 MPG (17.1 GPH). While not great, a Sea Ray 260SLX with a 350 HP Merc gets 1.2 MPG. Granted, there are boats out there that can get closer to 3 MPG, like the Monterey M45 or the Sea Ray SDX 250 with a 250 HP Merc. My point is that for all boats this size, it's hard to find one that can beat 3 MPG (when measured with proper equipment). It's also quite a bit less expensive to buy than a similar-sized Sea Ray, Regal, or Cobalt. This is a very large day boat for shorter trips and entertaining. Its best feature is that there is zero hump when entering the boat, which is great when you are bringing on board older folks. It's not a cruiser. If you want a cruiser, then by all means, buy one.

I had not read this one before, some interesting comments. With the benefit of fives years on, my impression is that the folks who have these boats are out there enjoying them and having a great time and that’s what matters most.

That is a wise observation and worth noting. People read forums online and just hear others scream the sky is falling. And it gives a new owner the impression that they bought a lemon. Not realizing that the majority of owners are actually out having a trouble free experience, and have no need to go in search of a forum online.
If they never had an issue or question, I wonder how many of us would have found this forum.
To your point, most people do not get on the net or forums to say how great their product is, they coming looking for solutions or to vent, and in some cases to try and slander, in this case Yamaha, for things they did to their product that Yamaha will not cover under warranty. Is Yamaha perfect? That would be a hard NO Squirrelly Dan.
I found this forum when I was researching which Yamaha to buy, and found a treasure trove of information, and great group of people to boot.
As I said in another forum recently, be grateful for what we have, and go out and run it as much as possible.

I join forums on anything i own that i plan on performing modifications or my own repairs on. Not because i have problems. I do a lot or research prior to purchase and read a lot of information on forums to educate myself on something like a motorcycle, boat, etc...
