I listened to FDR’s folly on audible.. this is an excellent book, very well written and the research that was done was amazing. The reality of the “new deal” is so much different than what we were taught in school, and the book aligns with what my Dad and Uncle told me the Great Depression was like, they graduated High School in the mid 1930’s..

My favorite, and for anyone who grew up in the 80's, this is a must read. If you are into audio books, this is read by Will Wheaton and does a great job!. I recommend, if you can, get your hands on a first addition, there is an Easter Egg hidden in the book itself that is really cool! The movie is good, but the book is so much better, I know people say that, but in this case it is like 1000x better.
His other book Armada is also really good. And an interesting take on the past 30 years.
Great book about the deadly 1996 climbing season on Mt Everest. I’m a sucker for Mt Everest and high altitude climbing stories in general but this book is great.
Netflix has a great documentary on the 2015 earthquake in Nepal that triggered the largest single-season loss of life on Mt Everest - not to mention the catastrophic damage and loss of life in the surrounding areas.

My girlfriend and I were supposed to climb to the Mt Everest base camp at 18,000’ that year, the earthquake struck three weeks before we were supposed to leave, talk about dodging a bullet!

Great read, would recommend it to everyone especially those with young children. Has studies and statistics on the (negative) effects of smart phones beginning in 2010+. The author shares recommendations on how to handle it all & in hopes of preventing issues with smart devices.
One of the best lines (of many) I read from the book:
“The diffusion of digital technology into children’s lives has been like smoke pouring into our homes. We all see that something strange is happening, but we don’t understand it. We fear that the smoke is having bad effects on our children, but when we look around, nobody is doing much about it.”

To OP my wife reads a shit load of books. She tracks all her books read as well as progress in current book using an app called Goodreads. I was on it for a while. Good way to share good books you’ve read with others.
