Charleston Cooper River Run up to Pinopolis Lock May 20th 2017

Well... he will be on my boat and it's red and white sooooo.... on that day I guess he can be an NC state fan as well...... although the I really don't see the point.. smh... freaking state!!

Of course but you might get ignored by my boat and @robert843 crew, :playful:. Just kidding, fans of any team are always welcome.

Even Patriots fans? In my defense I have been a Pats fan since I could walk but boy Tom and Bill have been a great team.

NO! I draw the line with pats fans!!! no pats fans on the run!! lol ok ok... you can come but if they win we can hear nothing about it.... and if they loose then we can talk about it nonstop!! how does that sound? I think that is fair..

@robert843 .. any idea in how many are going this year? Seems like more than last year... with some going from Myrtle and all its gonna be fun..

Right now it looks like 8-9 boats and 3 skis. I think we were 12 boats and 4 skis last year I would have to go back and look though but I didn't even post this trip till March last year so it being this early I'm sure there will be additions and subtractions that happen before May.

I think I guilt tripped @chess into bringing his boat down too instead of riding with us..

I just added him to the committed part of the first post it looks like I didn't have him there yet.

The plan (especially the Myrtle launch) sounds awesome and it will be a ton of fun for everyone. With our kiddos still finishing up school and Myrtle being a long haul for us on both ends, we sadly need to pass. I am excited to see how it goes as we will consider it at a better time.

Sorry the hear that man maybe next time.

The holiday inn express and areas around it seem to be the default for spending the night....Has anyone considered http://charlestonharborresort.com/ at the marina ? This is the marina we rent a slip at right?

@bronze_10 you roadtripping to Myrtle Sat AM or sleeping in Myrtle Friday night?

@justason we had our boats at city marina last year.

As far as driving down I am not sure. We have a couple worker that has a townhouse home down there that we may drive to Friday night.. other wise we will leave early from my mother's house in lagrange. She turned 80 and stated she wanted to go on a boat trip for her 80th birthday.. well will know more as we get closer. What are your plans?

This is on the Mt Pleasant side of the harbor vs the downtown side. Right now I would say it wouldn't matter which side you stayed on unless you just really wanted to be downtown. Last year we used City Marina but we all stayed downtown as well.

I did just notice the the Tall Ship Challenge was during our stay that could add to some cool older schooners being out on the water during our stay.

that marina is HUGE.....have any statements been made about Saturday night? I always had my eye on Shem's creek which kept me searching that side of the city for a bed. Downtown I think I've been to before.. These rooms are gonna book up fast w/tallships..

edit: it appears holiday inn express dwntn is booked marriot at the docks is high $300's, and hilton garden is booked

I was able to get like 5 rooms in my name at the Hold days inn ashley creek for my people and a few others.. we have a reservation for a slip at city marina as well

I will have to use City Marina as Charleston Harbor doesn't allow PWC.

@Ramblin Wreck .. last year at city marina there were two or thee skis tied up beside my boat over night at city marina..

From what I gathered from calling around last year City is the only marina I could find that would allow skis. I'm almost positive Charleston Harbor would not. You are correct though as there were 4 of us tied up at City last spring.
