Favorite Summer Beer?

I like Pinkus organic beer

Schöfferhofer’s Grapefruit and Pomegranate.

When I was in Disney a few years ago, we went to a German eatery I believe at Epcot. I got a 32 ounce mug of the Grapefruit and have been drinking it since. Refreshing and Quenching. Can't find them at all stores, but I can take out at least a 6 pack easily and quickly.

If I can't find those I will usually just grab Steigl Radler

Whiteclaw or any spiked seltzer
I never cared for spiked seltzer, but if it's summer and i'm social drinking, then whiteclaw is the choice. I can drink 10 of those and wake up the next day without a hangover or any ill effect. Other beers would leave me sick for almost the entire day.

Whatever is free! The two words which guarantee my appearance at an event. Free Beer!

I'm usually a Corona, Corona Light or Corona Premier with a lime or 2, but I went a little old school a couple weeks ago with a Hamms!
Soooo Good!

You can still get Schlitz here in Wisconsin and its pretty tasty.

Have you been to Leinenkugel, if so was it worth it? I’ve become a big fan since having the Summer Shandy a few years ago while on a vacation in Hilton Head. The Summer Shandy is easy to find here in MD/DE, but the other Leinies require more effort. I really like the Canoe Paddle Kolsch.

Sorry I missed this!! Leinies used to be made in Chippewa Falls which is in the far northwest corner of Wisconsin and I never made it up there. It's now brewed in Milwaukee which isn't worth the trip.

Nothing but bad memories of Hamm's.

Schlitz went everywhere. It was a pretty good marketing plan, and Miller produced it. It's still around, but IMO, it's overpriced for what it is, and it's not as easy to find as it was when they first re-released it.

I'm a bit disappointed in Leinie's. They no longer make my mostest favoritest tastiest beer, Big Butt Dopplebock, and I won't forgive them until they bring it back. Nothing else comes close, and I'm not happy that they're making all the "crisp/light/flavored" stuff, but they're ignoring their stout/bock/porter fans, and pretending their Oktoberfest or Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is sufficient. The Porter is too much...something...to be able to enjoy more than 2 (maybe 3, but no more than that).

Sprecher is what I would recommend to non-Wisconsinites, and their tour is family friendly. If you're in or near Milwaukee, Sprecher is the family tour, and head over to Lakefront Brewery for the "adult" tour. Plan ahead for both, and get yourself a spot early. Plan a tour, and then head to The Safe House for dinner.

I can enjoy Miller Lite with a lime all day long when out one the water and it's hot out. I'll drink a water or Gatorade between every two for rehydration. I can keep that up all day without any headaches or hangovers the next day. When I'm not out in the sun on the water and it's summertime I enjoy Shiner Prickly Pear or Shiner Ruby Red. They are both so good and refreshing, but heavier then the Miller.

Thought I would try making beer. Here is a shot of it fermenting. It being English pale ale. Specific gravity calculations tell me I’m on track for about 5% ABV. Will keep you posted as it becomes ready.

It's been a while since I brewed beer... but shouldn't it be covered with a hose going into a water bucket to prevent it from going foul? Like using a carboy?
Absolutely correct. I was in the process of getting a second specific gravity reading when I posted pic. I would imagine if I hadn’t covered the beer this whole time it would have magical hallucinogenic properties. Lol ? Hopefully, when ready to bottle, it was not compromised in the process.

Whew! I'm sure it will be awesome.

They used to make this with an Hawaiian girl in a bikini on the can....Haven't been able to find it anymore....

My wife and I like to get to-go margaritas from the Mexican restaurant if we go to our usual Lake at Mozingo (Maryville, MO). Then she prefers seltzers and I prefer beer. Haven’t been able to get into the seltzers yet, but I heard Truly just made some tea seltzers that I’ll give it a shot. ?

Update on home brew, bottled the brew and when open bottles past 3 weeks it was fully carbonated. At 2 weeks it was slightly carbonated. No off flavors. I was happy 1st batch was successful.412DC5AB-1C23-4776-B505-6CA49465CC17.jpeg
