I have a 2024 Yamaha SX195. I recently pulled my boat for winterization -- ran great all year with zero issues.

To start winterizing, I ran hose to the system (turning on the water only after starting the engine) to warm up the oil (I shut off the water to the engine before turning it off). When I then changed the oil, I found I had water in the oil. I suspect I may have had my hose pressure too high and somehow contaminated my oil. I completed that oil change. To be safe, I decided to change the oil again just to ensure there was no water left in the system. I did the same as above, and this oil change also showed water in it (albeit maybe not as bad).

If I did get water in the system, how many oil changes would I need to do before really having it cleared out? Any other potential causes I should consider or things I should do to make sure I remedy this correctly?

In my opinion if you’ve always flushed the engine properly as you have described then there is another issue occurring that is allowing water to get into the oil.

In regards to how many oil changes it’s going to take to get the water out, as many as it takes to where no water is in the oil. If it keeps showing up after multiple changes that again points to a problem that needs to be addressed. I think your boat is still under warranty? If so should be taken to the dealer.

Could be bad head gasket.
