How to quiet the sound system when not in use?

I've noticed that there is a loud white noise coming from the speakers and sound system when there is no content being played.

Regardless of the source or even if you turn off the system, there's still a lot of white noise. When you have everything turned off except for the lights, it's quite noticeable and I'm trying to have the lights on without the white noise from the stereo.

Does anyone have any ideas?

This came up a while back I think. If I remember correctly it was associated with system and device grounding.

You're picking up buzz from the boat somehow. Make your dealer fix if still under warranty.
