is 75watts x 6 enough to over power the AR 250 engines?

Im trying to decide between JL audio 6.5s that are 75w and Rockford Fosgate 6.5s that are 150w. 75 w will be less expensive and I prefer JL...but will that be enough? I may also do a sub and an extra pair of speakers in the cabin in the future. I would love to be able to cruise arund and have a stereo that overpowers the motors and sounds great. any other sugestions?

You might want to try some sound proofing on the engine compartment. It seems like just putting a good seal between the engine hatch cover and where it closes on seems to help.

If the wattage you are referring to by speaker, that is the wattage the speaker can handle, it has nothing to do with the volume. You would probably need to add an amp to get more volume out of your speakers.

Lots of info in this section of the forum on audio gear.

Any amplified system should be enough to overpower engines and mostly wind.

The more power you give a speaker the louder it will be. Remember that in your decision.
