Hey guys I own a 24 ar 250 with twin 1.9 litre. I have 15 hours on both motors. My starboard side runs a little louder and rougher than the other. Any ideas before I pull her from the water and back to the dealer? No codes thrown and seems to run fine. Just doesn't sound as good as the other. Oil change done and grease fittings topped

A video would help a lot.

Did you check the plugs at 10 hours? If you wanted to do anything put in a new set of spark plugs, be sure to check the gap.

Otherwise I’d run it based on your description.

I would strongly suggest confirming oil level and insulation, perhaps identifying if the noise is from the pump or engine.

For your own happiness, I would not take the boat in now unless you identify an issue.

Maybe it needs more use, go run it like you stole it :)

Best of Luck!

Yes oil is good, what do you mean by insulation? And yes i definitely dont want to take her in now, trying to enjoy it

Sometimes the engine bay insulation can come loose and lay over the air box inlet.

Fwiw my starboard engine has always run rougher than the port at idle dunno why but it’s fine underway.

Ok gotcha. Thanks for the help. Enjoy your summer. I'll keep you posted tomorrow when I change the plugs

Check all hose clamps for the exhaust, doubt any are loose but you never know! Runs rougher needs more explaining, do you mean at idle or no wake mode or cruising speed? Or all the time no matter what? Are the RPMs the same at idle, no wake modes, and cruising speeds?

Will do. I can't attach a video here for some reason but I will be there tomorrow morning and will take another video. Rougher .meaning it's sounds not as quiet and smooth as the other motor. It shakes a little bit more. Definitely at ide, no wake mode and not sure when I'm cruising, it's hard to tell. But both were very smooth and quiet from day one. Only have 15 hours on her. I have a feeling it's misfiring but would have thought it would throw a check engine light or something. So hopefully changing the plugs corrects it.

I believe the rpms were good and seemed to match the other engine. Didn't. Really notice a performance issue but I'm also still new to this boat

The starboard exhaust is longer and designed differently so the port engine can sound slightly louder. Mine has always sounded different from each other from day one. No issues at all
