nicopress sleeve failed

well this made a bang when it let loose... Note to self don't believe what the tech support folks tell you !!! do your own homework... cable was way strong enough... aluminum nicopress sleeve (80% line) and salt water not so much. So it only dropped the boat like 8" back in the water and the cables have been corrosion proofed periodically... so called HAAS and they they said use the Zinc Plated Copper sleeves (90% of line) and double them up with the solid thimbles as there was too much side load in the sleeve...

I've got a spool of this already 3/8" diameter 7x19 type 316 stainless steel cable. 200 ft reel constructed of 7 strands and 19 wires per strand. 7x19 construction makes this cable very flexible. Breaking strength is 11760 lbs and working load limit is 2352 lbs. so I ordered:

Type 316 Stainless Steel Screw Pin Anchor Shackle × 2 3/8"
Stainless Steel Tubular Thimble × 4 3/8" - 7/16"
Zinc Copper Hourglass Sleeves × 12 3/8"

well this'll hold and not corrode... now I know why they call them drop cables... aluminum required 5 crimps to get 80% line and zinc plated copper requires 3 and 2 sleeves gets me 160% of line and no corrosion and cracking of the sleeve... also the heavy duty thimbles help... I only got enough a$$ to crimp one cable a a day LOL...
