One picture of your last outing.

So, everyone post's a great picture of their last outing, right? Well. Shit goes wrong once in a while.

Really wrong.

First time out in a new locale. The back bays here are generally regarded as treacherous, but I was double pissed because this was (according to the chart) a known good depth of water, and I had run through it on the way out earlier in the morning. Dont know if it was a shifting sandbar or just something to chalk up to local knowledge required. Whatever it is, it sucked. All I can say, is SeaTow is worth every god damn penny. They were on scene in under 10 minutes and we were back on our way with less than a 30 minute delay. If it were just me and my wife, I might've just waited for the tide to come back, but our guests had places to be.

Oh well. Shit happens. Boat is safe and sound without even a marr on the gelcoat. Soft sand and steering aids that flip up for the win.

This was a cut between estuaries. that we've done a dozen times before in other nearby bays, and an area marked white on chart, which should always be safe. Went from 6' of depth to 6" (literally, ankle deep) in about 20' - happens quick at 15MPH.

You said something about waiting for the tide... could it be as simple as the tide dropping and the area becomes unnavigable (izzat even a word?!?) at low tide?

17 year old son finally got to enjoy a long run. We noticed he tended to pull towards the starboard side, so we loaded up the starboard ballast, switched the wake booster to the other side and suddenly he was surfing like a pro!

Cape Lookout never disappoints!

Nice! You go ocean side this time, or ICW?
Ocean.... Although I wasn't in the Yamaha, it was a beautiful day to go. The ocean looked like a big pond!

I made them myself. About 20 bucks worth of materials from Home Depot.
I can’t quite figure out what I’m looking at, but I think I need it!! Is this just 2 tow straps? I think I’m seeing some foam pipe insulation on something. Can you describe your setup a bit?

Do you haul 2 kayaks? How do they handle at cruising speed?

It looks like a wall mount bike carrier from HD rigged to hold a funyak?
