One picture of your last outing.

We spent a long weekend in Crystal River, FL at the Plantation Inn to see the Three Sisters Springs and attempt to scallop. It's the end of the season for scallops, so I didn't expect much. We caught one, named him Lucky, and gave him back to the Sea. Although it is a bit podunk, Crystal River was a great time to relax with friends. Killer fresh grouper and shrimp served at every meal.

Kings Bay is a no wake zone during manatee season and ended up being a nice change of pace to sight see. Average depth, depending on the tide, was 2.5 to 3.5 ft, which is disconcerting when you can see the bottom. What's great is that you can go out into the Gulf for salt water fun and cruise back into the bay to clean your boat out with fresh spring water. No worries about my painted trailer getting corroded.

we wanted to go there the past couple weekends, going to wait until scallop season was over. How was the boat ramps? i know theres a few. I heard if you didnt go early you could be waiting an hour to put in because of all the scallopers and super busy.

Stay at the Plantation Inn. It's the nicest place in Crystal River. They have a boat ramp on site. No crowd and no wait except on Saturday. On Saturday we waited about 20 minutes at 10:30am to put in because a guy forgot his drain plugs. All of the scalloping crowd is gone and the temp is perfect. One time $10 launch fee for your whole stay if you're staying on property. I didn't leave my boat in the water, but they have a ton of attachment points for boats on the seawall next to the tiki bar. Seriously, don't even consider another hotel. Walk out of your hotel door and drop into the water. When you get back, they have a great hot tub, pool, and tiki bar that attracts the local boaters at night.

Taken last weekend. Reminds be of "Hope".

New crew on board. Cold evening on the boat. Brought a cabin heater along. A 2-dog and wife kind of night. The dogs are "learning the ropes" nicely.

Went to dinner late yesterday afternoon to AJ's on the (Alafia) River about a 40 mile ride RT. Below is a picture of our ride back looking at Downtown St. Pete. The ride there was beautiful but a bit bumpy on the way back.

Had a friend join us on our ride yesterday at the end of the season. Dolphins aren't too unusual this time of year here on Long Island, but still a fun sight to see. Followed us for a bit and loved ducking under the front of boat looking at us while we were idling through. It was super curious about us and our boat as it kept passing by trying to get eyes on us. Not sure if the jet drive was less bothersome as it only swam with our boat despite a few other center consoles near by watching as well. My fiance got some great video that i'll try and upload somewhere and share here, but in the interim enjoy the photos. It had fun riding our wake a few times when I powered up as well. Photos were taken inside the Great South Bay right by Smith's Point Bridge for any locals.

What is that on there? Ash from a local forest fire? Baby powder from living too close to a Johnson & Johnson plant? Cocaine? Sawdust from cutting a white oak?

I don't get it.

Funny you say that, years ago I spoke with a very nice woman who worked for AMD based in Texas and just before the July 4th weekend she asked if we still had to watch out for winter blizzards. I told her it was 98 degrees outside and humid as Florida. She was shocked to hear Canada had such warm weather. LOL

My wife chilling in her new beach chair and a few pics of us iSUPing near Sacramento, CA.
As for the Pic of the Wave Runner, it is a 2020 FX SVHO Limited. My wife fell in love with the ski when she first saw it from the shore and told me we should get one after the owner gave us a tour of it. I checked, there are five FX models, this is the top of the line or right next to it at $17k to$18k just for the pwc (pre tax / pre trailer). My wife mentioned getting one again the next day. I can’t get over the cost, neither can my son. We are against buying it. Now I wonder if my wife is just screwing with me/testing me.

It was pretty quiet on Norris this weekend and a bit chilly too. Air temp 72. Water temp 80. Co-Pilot was cold, me not so much, lol. Long sleeve vs Tank top.

Two pics from the maiden voyage on our new 252SE. One of the new captain (me) and one of the first mate under his blanket in the passenger's seat. He was still awake at this point. Not long after this, he zonked out and stayed asleep through docking AND loading. Finally woke him up at the staging area after we finished emptying out the boat and were ready to head back home!
