It's almost here... the spring Pensacola Florida air show!!
This Saturday, July 14th!

Best viewed by boat, this air show is AMAZING! The civilian air show starts at noon, then the all-star BLUE ANGELS start their flight routine at 2pm.

The lagoons normally fill up very early. Personally I prefer staying in the Gulf. (Weather & waves permitting)

Post if you're planning on attending. Hope to see you there and place some faces to all the great people on this forum.

@Bennie Last year we stayed at the NAS for a couple of weeks in late February and March and fell in love with the area. Unfortunately we found out the Blue Angels winter in California so we did not get a chance to see them fly. However that will not deter us from coming back this year.

The Angels put on an awesome show for the home crowd! We saw it last year sitting on the sand at Pensacola beach. What was even more awesome was the gridlock of people and traffic afterwards. We had taken the free shuttle from the entrance of the national park, Ft. Pickens, to the main beach. When the show was over traffic came to a standstill with the shuttle buses stuck in the jam. Instead of sitting and waiting for it to all clear out we started walking back to the truck. It was a three mile hike in flipflops carrying our beach stuff. Fun! Thankfully, we didn't take a big cooler and our beach chairs could be carried like a backpack when folded. They also had little coolers and storage pouches built-in to them for small items. We were so done once we got back to the camper. Was a great show, but we're not in any hurry to do that again!

The traffic is the only down fall this will be the first year in abt 15 that I wasn't there

Man you're not kidding... that traffic is ridiculous!

Even the return boat traffic is crazy. To get a smooth ride, and avoid the washing machine effect, we go out about a mile from the beach then make the return. But to get to sit out there and have the Blue Angels fly right over your head is an amazing experience.
(Especially floating in the water with a cold beer in my hands)
