Well, this is a first. Took the boat out with the family and loaded it back on the trailer. Cranked the winch strap till right before the eyelete on the boat hit the roller. Went to tighten it to the roller and POP! Winch strap just shredded and broke apart. Definitely didn’t expect it but at least it happened once I got the boat on the trailer.

Any recommendations on what strap to add? I want something to last forever.IMG_0087.jpeg

Two tips on winch straps. Be sure it is 2", most are, but measure. Also pull the old one out and confirm you know how to pull the pin to remove the old and install the new.

Otherwise, the straps are pretty generic and will sun rot no matter how much you want them to last forever.

Suggestion.....Looks like you have some excessive wear on the Gear Side of the strap. Make sure it is winding straight when loading. I have had a strap do the same. Purchased one off Amazon as Kgower listed and it lasted longer than the OEM.

Essentially, all of the straps are comparable. 2" width is mandatory.
Don't buy one because it is cheaper than another one; buy a strap that will give you the confidence to use it.
Like another answer to you, these straps fade and rot out, because of the sun. You can't avoid it, but a good strap should last longer than you will probably have the trailer.
