Just to circle back to this, it looks like anyone who is in the market for an InReach Explorer should look to purchase now. It appears that Garmin is putting out an updated model this year that is listed at $449.99. Many retailers (REI, Cabelas, etc...) are sold out of the old ones. There are still some out there, but the cheapest I found lately was $311, up from $299 a few days ago.
