Well, didn't quite make the lake this weekend (25 mph winds gusting to 35 are not my idea of a good time), but I tried to do SOMETHING boat-related. The 13 year old is starting to become a real contributor:
I even let him try the buffer
So now he's the age that he can handle grown-up jobs but is still small enough to fit in the helm compartment (skinny little s--t). That's a HUGE bonus. I need to think of everything I need done before he and his little brother get as big around the middle as I am.
He also passed his on-line Boater's Safety course. I suppose I'm gonna HAVE to give up some helm time now...
It's been tough trying to get out this year. The kids just got out of school on Friday, the wind was way too much to deal with Saturday, and the Wife and Eldest Daughter headed to Indiana on Sunday for a college tour.
I'm starting to understand folks that sell their boats when their kids hit this age (and mine are no where NEAR as busy as a lot of yours). I don't condone it, but I do understand it.
