Just spent all last week on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Rented a beautiful house (with docks and private beach) with our friends. Took 2 boats up.
Just got back today.
Storm came out of nowhere today. Had to seek shelter under the Destin Bridge. Had an SX210 seek shelter next to me. Tried to communicate with him about the forum but we were being pushed by the wind and current and wasn't happening. Pic I took of him was right before it got bad.
Just watched this video of an ancient forest and river bed off the Alabama gulf coast. Lived here in Alabama all my life and never knew of this. Pretty cool!

The boys caught the first fish from the swim platform tonight. Texas had awesome temps in the 70's tonight. We fished "The BrushPile" on Joe Pool Lake.

Ditto to what @Coheeba said, That was AWESOME. It brings back memories of my nautical archeology past of studying sunken ships from the war of 1812 in Lake Champlain in the early 1980's. There was a book written on our project at that time and I do miss doing that stuff. Sidebar, Lake Champlain has evidence of an ancient and the oldest salt water reef in the U.S., Google it. And the part we boat most is reffered to as "The Inland Sea". That is me on the right comparing notes with my partner. Currently there is a project on the New York side studying the Revolutionary War ship "Spitfire" lost after the battle of Valcour Is. when Bennedict Arnold was commanding before he turned traitor. This ship is remarkably in tact preserved by the silt.
I meant to post this earlier but this year's boating season at the Modesto Reservoir started with a high speed collision between a jet boat and PWC that resulted in the death of a 16 year old. Looks like there was also a drowning a week earlier and now another just a few days ago. I assume this means that the water patrol will be more strict there this season which is a good overall as far as I am concerned. I love the Modesto Resrvoir and camp there at least twice a summer with my family and friends but for the grace of God the subject of this story is my teenage son. I know people who were there the day the 16 year old died, they described the scene as chaotic, I believe them.
Now I know what what drivers behind me see (minus the tower). We were side by side on the highway. Turns out it was the same boat that was side by side with me pulling out of the boat ramp the day before.
