What is that costing you or is work paying for it?
A vehicle is between $1100 and $1500 depending on size. The Camry we sent in July was $1100, my truck was $1500. The boat out of Seattle (nearer to where we live) was about $7900 and out of Oakland it was $5600. All of it my money!

Not bad for the cars but WOW the boat was a big pill to swallow.

I agree, big disparity between the two. I've been looking at boats in Hawaii for a year and there are typically only 2 types of boat for sale - really expensive or really junk!

@Ronnie

$5600 to $7900, OUCH !!! My wallet hurts even though it was your money. Do they let you pack your car or boat with other items (e.g. tvs, PCs, clothes, etc. ) since the rate basis is size not weight? I would have shipped it out of Oakland as well even if it meant towing it several hundred miles through two states first.

I wonder if the pricing would be reversed if I called for quotes, that is, $7900 out of Oakland and $5600 out of Seattle?

On the bright side, it sounds like you are moving to beautiful HI, congrats.

What this has taught me is that if have the opportunity to relocate I need to do it though work and negotiate a healthy relocation allowance.

This happened locally last weekend but I just read about it a few minutes ago. Sad for the whole family, dad has to live with this the rest of his life (in and out of prison). He killed one of his son’s and injured (some stories say maimed) another, alcohol was involved.

Here is another that hits closer to home because i have boated, beaches and floated there many times over the years. I’m hoping and looking forward to seeing a boat related story with happy ending soon. These guys make all boaters look bad.

A friend of mine recently got me into watching this Netflix show. I watch episodes on you tube as I don’t want to subscribe to Netflix. American ninja warrior with cars is a good description for it.

The final bill after breaking my arm and having surgery on it in July. It doesn’t reflect my monthly benefit costs or the multiple $20 copays but am still happy about it.

Not allowed to put anything in the vehicle. You are allowed to keep your boating related items in the boat as long as they are in storage compartments - good thing there is tons of storage space in these boats. I loaded it up!

Black Russian Terriers, today at Purina Farms specialty dog show.
Fascinating breed... Conceived in the 80s for use by the red army, supposedly combine some of the most aggressive traits.
They are massive, and pretty intimidating in person. I have never seen one, and seeing an "army" of those was quite interesting.

Baling the 2nd cut hay last night. Paying attention to the kicker. Those 40#+ bales will knock you down if they hit you. We are here stacking into my wagon at a buddies farm field baling before the dew sets on the ground. Making winter feed for the horses.

Eff'n snow on the mountains...? I'd close my eyes so I don't have to look at it, but I'm driving.

Had an unbelievable Ahi (yellowfin) tuna dinner last night, fish just caught by a friend in San Diego.
We had to go wake surfing in the morning - to help feel a bit less landlocked...!

Pics from the 13 mile stroll and roll I participated in this weekend. A scenic stretch of road is closed to auto traffic once every two years so only pedestrians and bicyclists may use it for a few hours. 6AFDB5B7-7CBF-44E5-8579-F885D32D62FB.jpeg
