Took the day off from work. Had to pass by Crab Island and was wishing I was out there.

I know the feeling, I was going over that bridge a couple weeks ago and dreaming of summer. Definitely getting a group of us together to make a run through the intercoastal to come over for the day as soon as it's warm enough.

As I was leaving for work tonight, these were the sad faces I had to say goodbye to.

Awesome, We have a boxer and a beagle. Dante our beagle is fat, old, grumpy and just wants to sleep all day. Laila our boxer wants to spend every moment with us and has the most personality of any dog I've ever had. Love putting her in the backseat and watching her jowls flap out the window in the side mirror. She loves going on the boat but isn't a huge fan of swimming.

@Big Shasta A lot of the engines we build are used in power generation. They are also utilized in many of our large earth moving equipment in the mining industry, marine applications, and in the oil fields on fracking rigs. Along with several other applications that I probably don't even know about.

Here's a video they made in our facility a few years ago. It shows a little of the machine shop and more of the engine assembly. The very large engines at the beginning (and middle) are 3600 series and the smaller size is the 3500 series (I machine blocks for the 3500). The white engine at the end of the video is for marine use.

I use to procure and design CAT engines into a family of wood grinders at a previous employer. 3608 and 3612 sounds familiar. Cool stuff and our CAT dealer loved working with OEMs. They treated us right from dinners to sporting events in the greater Boston area.

Looking back, probably my favorite company i worked for

There is a CAT facility outside raleigh nc I need to look into

WOW ... Nice day ...........
Filled Miss B'Haven up with gas on the lift. Started a good cookin' fire with 100% heart of Hickory.
Smokin' some chicken up for Miss Barbie for Valentines Day.
Notice 2 things ..........

A) "Thin Blue Smoke" - Totally imperceptible . Means this is about as pure a fire as you can have !
B) Sun - AND NO SNOW !!!!!

LOL - Have FUN today - Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

Thanks, @Jim Robeson.
I had a Klose (Klose Smokers, Houston, TX) after meeting David <Klose> @ a BBQ gathering in Carlsbad, NM some 18 or 19 years ago. But after owning it for a few years, I knew it never really cooked all that good. So after a few strong recommendations from friends, Barbie & I would up ordering a Lang, from Ben Lang, in Nahunta, GA (wayyy south Georgia, almost to the Fla state line). 1 of the BEST decisions we have ever made.
http://www.langbbqsmokers.com/

There are so many things that differentiate a Lang from other offset cookers, it ain't funny. Ben <Lang> is originator of what has become known as the reverse flow, off set-fire-box design for "stick" cookers. Happy to answer any questions to help anyone. And BTW, I have no connection with Lang, except to be 1 of literally 1000's of happy, satisfied customers.
Best Wishes to all, for a WARMER Valentines Weekend !

Hopefully this does not bother anyone ...... as I know @ times I can go a little overboard.
But here is sweet Barbie with our new little Pig/chicken cooker.
One of the really kewl things about this is it is designed to be steam-cleaned - WHILE HOT - right after cooking, with a hose !!!!! Yup, it gets sprayed with water, and wire brushed. While screaming hot. Then closed up, to let the remaining heat from the firebox kill anything left, and dry it out.
Everything (water, gunk, food particles, grease) drains thru a large valve, installed @ the Lang factory (I put a bucket underneath the valve which I empty, so as to not mess up the driveway).
The point being that EVERY times we start a cook (and we use it about every week, or week and a half),
it is virtually as clean as the day we picked it up new @ the factory to bring her home. As they say, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."
OK. I'm done. At least a nice photo of Barbie makes this all worthwhile.
