My son just got a second generation 360 camera so he gave me his first generation camera along with a few accessories. I think I will buy a waist belt mount so I can take footage while using a Waverunner but I don’t imagine that this camera will get a lot of use from me. image.jpg

Here is our comrade's translation:

Hello everyone, do you think I should buy an online casino? Will such a gaming site bring in money? You can become a casino owner by following the link on the main page
an error appeared in the slot
There they do training on working with the casino
Do you think there will be any income?

Go Chesty mount, or search Chesty on Amazon. Waist will be too low if you are not standing all the time. The chesty for me still has the handlebars in frame when sitting on our waverunners.

This was shot six years ago using a chesty and GoPro. Of course I was standing mostly, but I would not want it any lower.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already have a chesty mount but still want the waist mount because the camera will be mounted higher and subject to less spray. Moreover, there are a lot of angles that are not captured with a standard action camera mounted to my chest. I will likely give the waist mount to my son after I am done using it. He may want to take it running or snowboarding.

You know what you need Ronnie, but you totally lost me on that comment. (smile) I was unsure how my waist would be higher than my chest.

Assuming a picture is worth a thousand words, this should help. The 360 selfie stick is 48” long fully extended so the camera will be over my head with room to spare.

Here are a couple of links to videos taken with the 360 camera by my son. FYI the main reason I don’t think I will use it much is lack of time or motivation to edit video, in 360 mode the camera uses a lot of storage space so it’s that much more to comb through.

Ahh, I gotcha. I was wondering if that was the case. As you mentioned a 360 cam, and I always use some sort of stick with mine to avoid getting in the way of any angle.

In my case, the GoPro Max is, at least, on a 4-6" stock on top of my helmet, so I can look down. I first started with a mount that went through the spine portion of my Tekvest (chest protector for snowmobiling) I get now what you were trying to accomplish.

Since it's not common to put a helmet on while riding PWC, the waist cam makes perfect sense. Be careful on how long you go, as it just adds bounce to the video. A shorter stick from the chesty worn on your back is an option if you already have one too.

Good luck,

This is my most popular early 360 video. Nobody rides sleds in October, so lots of sledders across the upper midwest checked it out.

And the closest thing to surfing waves at -19f. Sorry, I can't embed a short

Nice nor-cal rider! Missing the Sierra-at-Tahoe sticker!
He had that sticker on the board this one replaced. Interestingly we got it because the ski bus we were supposed to take to sugar bowl took the wrong freeway (headed to South Lake Tahoe instead of Reno).

here is a pic of my board, it’s a trophy and loaner now since I retired from the sport soon after my son started driving. I got several offers for it but I won’t sell it, it’s sentimental value far outweighs its monetary value. image.jpg

I was just out in that neck of the woods last week. Drove through Mammoth area and stayed in South Lake Takoe. Attended the High School graduation and even enjoyed a cocktail with the General Manager, John Rice from Sierra. Tough couple years for those guys after the fire, but they will come back strong. (watch for the Epic pass to come) We have not seen much for multi site passes for Sierra since Booth creek sold off Northstar to Vail resorts.

I played poker with the head of Lift Operations for Vail Resorts (Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar) in the Harvey's poker room. His Doppelmayr hat gave him away, and only another lifty from way back, like myself, may have noticed.

Not being a local, I thanked him for what Vail has done for those properties. I know that's a political sore spot with the locals, but an amazing transformation of all three mountains and base areas. Much higher ticket prices should be reflected with amazing grooming and upgraded lifts.

@biffdotorg , thanks for the “A shorter stick from the chesty worn on your back is an option if you already have one too.” Suggestion. I don’t mind not spending $50 and not having to wait for delivery. Now I just have to figure out how to mount the selfie stick to the chesty mount. Side note: it will be nice to reuse at least some gear.

Oof. That’s the part I forgot. I used to test third party GoPro accessories. And one was a selfie with GoPro style male/female connectors on them so you could use a 4”, 6”, 8” or connect them all together using GoPro screw.
Let me find what I tested.

Of course the waist mount isn’t three prong GoPro style as well I assume, like the chesty?

These are expensive carbon fiber. But you get the idea. Aluminum ones are a third the cost
