I’m hoping that a lot of you folks are getting out and just forgetting to post pictures of your days on the water!

We went out this morning before the temps. hit mid 90’s.

Auditing the fluorescent penetrant inspection process at the shop today. Linear indication coming off a platinum pin. Interesting process if you have never seen it before.

We should be able to get some pics today. Got the day off and hopefully the weather cooperates with our plans.
We decided to not go boating yesterday due to the windy conditions. Hopefully this weekend will be better.

Now say that in English, Sir!
Easiest way I can explain it, is a dye inspection under UV light that highlights indications or flaws you wouldn’t be able to see with your eye unless you had a microscope. Then the indication is graded against the engineering tech sheet for acceptability. It’s an NDT (non destructive testing) operation like X-ray and Ultrasonic wall inspection. I have been in investment castings and airfoils for the last 15yrs, and I nerd out on stuff like this still.

SPEAK ENGLISH, MAN! ?

We've got No Solicitation signs on both doors, as our neighborhood is a hotbed for door to door salespeople for some reason.

I had some guy ring the bell, and when I answered, he started in on his spiel. I stopped him and pointed to the sign, and he said said he didn't know what that meant. I told him it was a nice way to say get off my porch and don't ever knock on my door to sell me anything again.

I believe they would ignore that sign just as quickly, but it's easier to understand for the less literate among us.

Now, if it happens, I ask to see their solicitors permit (required, to bother me in our city) and that gets them down the street and out of the neighborhood, since they're required to know what "solicitation" means by the permit application, and fines for violations

I finally went into the dinosaur museum up in Hill City today… what a treat. The far side cartoon was not there, being in the museum, but it should be. I wonder… is paleontology a cult? ?

There is a 3’x5’ sign when you pull into our development that says No Solicitation, very hard to miss, been there since we moved down here in 2010. I have a sign by my doorbell camera that that says “smile your being recorded, no soliciting”. Still get the knock and door bell ring. I don’t know the accuracy of the next statement, but my buddies dad back up in Ohio said if Jehovah Witnesses come to your door, it’s because they committed a sin, and by religion, they have to tell you. Sometimes he would wait by the door if he knew they were coming to just to question them.. Classic John ?

You guys would be really loosing your shit in my neighborhood then. After that big hail storm the roofing and car hail repair door knockers were out of control. Sometimes 6 a day. Then a lull. Then the roofing starts, and a second round of door knockers. The no soliciting signs have no effect.

Maybe getting a change of wheels in Colombia. Offered my 118i and some cash on top. If he accepts, tomorrow I will bring it to my mechanic and do a full check on it. First order of business is getting a tune and a downpipe. 430hp+ I wanted to get this car last year, but ended up getting the 3-cylinder 118i. Clearly I'm not satisfied :winkingthumbsup"

We get door hangers all the time, same thing after storms/hail ran through. I don't mind those.

After accidentally clipping wires when going to replace the door and doorbell, I decided to go wireless with both doorbells. Since waiting to purchase the doorbells, the silence has been great, so I may never even replace the doorbells ?

Something about having to knock really stops people in their tracks. Like, they short circuit, and don't know what to do. It's the weirdest thing, and funny to watch

I had ADT stop by a while back so I stepped outside with my blue heeler as she was barking like crazy. Told them I’ve already got a security system while I pointed to the dog. They kindly went on their way.

Working on a pulled ham (that's what the kids are calling it nowadays) for tomorrow's party. About ready to remove it and drain the juices, glaze it (that's what she said), wrap it in foil and finish @300 until temps hit 205, then shred. First time doing a ham like this, but done plenty of pork butts before. We got the ham as a gift from work, and it was time to get it out of our freezer.
