Spring time hail storm
Most of it was marble to gumball size but a few golf balls
A lot of rain that really made a gully washer

Some of the things I do, other than the forum and boats. Well it includes boats today

Shipped 6300 gallons yesterday morning, emptied the 4000 gallon tanks and went in for cleaning between deliveries from the pump station.

Then went out in the sugarbush. Wife sometimes checks in on the app. She is at home. I am out near that old sugar house with all the old rusty buckets

Me and the hammer earlier in the day before I saw 56 deg. Tapping drill and tubing cutter hanging from lines.

Was pleased with how the bush looked, so went and glued cushion foams together and applied batting prior to temporarily shrinking them down and putting them in the covers.

Will try to set up a video later today on how we get the foam into the vinyl covers.

Calling insurance this morning. The truck got dinged pretty good on the hood. The hail storm at our house was freakin intense. The hail and wind shifted directions 4 times. It was crazy.

Saw this about an hour ago. Tiny little incline with a turn.

I’ve been that guy, definitely not the way to start a weekend or any day really. Hindsight is always 20/20 but one bad experience was enough to motivate me to buy and use more straps to secure my loads.

my brother lost a couch on the freeway a few years ago. Several drivers hit it and one sued him. He came out alright but it took years to close, all of which could have been avoided by purchase and use of an inexpensive ratchet strap, rope or even a bungee cord.

I’m pretty anal about securing a load and fortunately this has not happened to me.

Haven’t thought about this in a long time, but your brother’s couch reminds me of when I was a fairly new investigator with the FDA in Houston, maybe 1984? All of our government cars came from GSA, and mine was an AMC Gremlin that was retired from the USDA. Driving on I-10 (through downtown Houston), a flatbed Semi lost a load of oil field pipe valves that were not properly secured to the trailer. Not be able to stop in time or change lanes due to traffic, I ran over one ripping apart the oil pan in the Gremlin. Engine, of course, seized up and the Gremlin was toast! The semi was parked along the shoulder, and the responsible driver was waiting to take responsibility for not securing his load. No one was injured so no big deal.

Decided to hand dig this trench. Digging through the clay here is like digging through concrete. Also shoveled about 2500lbs of mulch. Topsoil comes on Monday to do some leveling and put out some seed.20240315_175805.jpg20240315_120159.jpg20240315_114020.jpg20240315_114016.jpg
