It's been nearly a year since we sold and left Hawaii. In that time span I've lived a country music song backwards - got a new to me truck, a new motorcycle and of course a new to me Yamaha AR240. To finish it off we just closed on and moved into a house in the Phoenix, West Valley.

Lots of exploring to do as we learn about the area!

Tips and suggestions are welcome - and yes we already know it gets hot here in the summer. I'm from the deep south (of BC, Canada) so, I'm already accustomed to heat!!

LOL..........BC Canada heat.............I love the saying in Phoenix it 110 degrees today but it's a DRY HEAT.......like that matters.

So is a blow dryer, but I don't want it aimed at my face!

That was my response when I lived with my Mom outside Vegas (Pahrump). One valley east of Death Valley. Driest/Hottest place I've ever existed.

The Devils Taint…..that’s what my friends kids call it who moved there a couple years ago. I call it living inside an Easy Bake Oven. In the summer it cools off to 105°…..at night.

It is a dry heat except when the monsoons come. Get a good straw hat that you can soak and put it back in, AC for your head.

It gets so hot there the lizards carry a piece of grass in their mouth to stand on when they stop running…
