Yay! The dishwasher is fixed! What, @drewkaree , you want a pic? Ok…
This is how Haier overcomes the fact that replacement pumps come with a different wiring harness than the original. I kid you not!

Was the zip tie supplied? I've seen redneckery like that on 2 separate occasions, one printed the instructions on how to "apply" the zip tie as well.

It sure was! When I opened the box and took inventory I was like what the F* is this zip tie for? They were too chicken s* to write down instructions, but I figured it out, and googled it to confirm. Apparently, they were selling this kit for over a year without the zip tie and people trying to figure out what to do. Then they “upgraded” the kit by adding the zip tie. :D

Not really sure I am venting, but have only been boating once this year. First part of May my father went into the Emergency ICU with heart problems. A week later I took my mother to the Emergency with heart problems, both in the 80's. It has been a long 7-8 weeks, with Rehab for both of them PT at home, a stair chair lift getting installed and a complete life change for them. They are getting better and hopefully soon maybe life will return a bit back to normal for them. At the very least I still have 70% of a tank of last years cheaper gas :).

My starboard engine is not starting, dealership thinks its a swollen wear ring, but they can't get to it until next week. :(
Yes, I know I can do it myself but I just don't feel like it...
Well, they fixed the wear ring, but my dipstick tube is cracked. It's a quick and inexpensive job but again, waiting for parts...

Well, it has been in the triple digits here for almost two weeks - 109 and on the water feels like you are rolling through a blast furnace when cruising! Today is supposed be 98 for a high, we will get out tonight for an evening cruise and dinner on the lake...finally!

Spent the last few weeks getting our dream garden setup done.

The whole project has been crazy due to grades, drainage, existing septic infrastructure (holding tank and pump station, fortunately the field itself is elsewhere), electrics, the list goes on.

This weekend in particular I spent about as much time underwater as I did above. The previous owners of our house had an in-lake pump as their primary source of water for many years until they finally drilled a well, but the old pump was left in with electrics, pressure tank, etc.

After a week with the new garden, we were overtaxing the well, and needed to revive the lake pump and bring it online to run all irrigation. Wish I'd taken pictures of the underwater parts, i'll have to go back down with my camera another day.

At any rate, this has consumed all time over the last 4 weeks, and we only did 20-30% of the overall work!

Sweet!

We are thinking about doing some raised beds next year, it I can get all of the other projects done (patio, fencing, and maybe a decent sized shed). Is there any advantage to smaller bed boxes as opposed to larger ones, or is it just aesthetics? I like how you irrigated the boxes.

We didn't want any one bed to be wider than 4' so that we could reach in easily. We had thought about 4'x8'x2' beds but the layout of underground stuff for septic caused a number of issues. In the end we went with the 4'x4'x2'.

In the end though, I can't imagine this being done any other way. We can easily access every part of the raised beds. I can't tell you how long it took to come up with that layout though. I had a Visio diagram of the whole area with surface and subsurface layers and trying to ensure everything was accessible that needed to be was one of the more complicated planning exercises I've ever had :D That 45 degree angle on the patio is to accommodate a septic access hatch and carrying the angled look through tied it all together. Some real world things had to be adjusted and didn't quite match the plans, but it turned out pretty great (in my not so humble opinion).

The irrigation is really the icing on the cake. We had used broadcast sprinklers before to water while we would travel and whatnot, but end up growing more weeds than garden plants. Automatic and targeted is awesome and saves time on garden maintenance as well. We'll see how things survive the winter; blowing the system out completely is going to be super important. We have 5 total zones across the property now and each has its own challenges... adding zones 6 and 7 next year will be... interesting. Keep in mind that only 2 zones are for grass. The Admiral really likes her flowers and veggies :)

Welcome to October in Minnesota.

Mid 70's a week ago, and it's 33 degrees this morning. Should warm up to 65 on Saturday. Overdue to pull the boat and boat lift.

Since my kids are all in college now, I’ve been putting in way more hours on my paramotor than the boat.

I saw 10f on the dash while on my drive to work. I saw frozen ponds as well.

And as per Minnesota rules, we should see mid to high 60's this weekend. Glad I got my lift out last weekend, I need to do the dock this weekend. Hopefully it will be warm enough to acid wash my hull, buff and wax the rest before bedtime.

Hangoutdoors and Babin, you guys see snow over your direction? We got enough to make me turn on the wiper in my SXS, as it was getting covered while driving!!

I see the UP of Michigan got shelled the last 48 hours. Upwards of 12" or more of the fluffy stuff.

No nothing as of yet. May get a few flakes, nothing will accumulate, then nice on the weekend.
