So I spent the past week getting dock in, lift in and adjusting all. it was time to put the boat in when i realized I had a new Keel Guard on the shelf that still needed to be installed.

These things really like 60 degrees or better for the glue to set, so I needed it to warm up. I got that chance tonight. I used the winch on the front of my Polaris General this time, rather than the trailer winch. I have a wireless remote allowing me to winch while I monitored it.

Turned out good. Goes in the water tomorrow!

The Keel Guard really looks good on the boat! :winkingthumbsup"

Is this the first one that you have put on this particular boat, or is this a replacement?

I like how you used the winch but for those who do not have that option I found that if you cut it right down the middle with a razor it made removing it so much easier then trying to remove it in one piece.

I pulled the first one off with the winch on the trailer. Works great! It was just tougher, as I would get under, heat, then go winch, then heat repeat. It would be been easier with another person.

This time, I had the winch on the SXS with wireless remote, so I felt work smarter, not harder.

This is the third one on this boat. It had one on when I purchased it, and have replaced it twice. Low water conditions, or a bunk on the lift dropping have caused damage to two of them. That's the whole reason of the keel guard/shield, they are expensive, but cheaper than gelcote. And honestly, they will replace them for free when these accidents happen!

I switched brands this time, I will see how it holds up. My other one was yellowing, so I was hoping this one may stay as white as my hull after an acid wash.

Got a new washer and dryer a month ago, just got the parts to update the dryer vent and water lines for the dryer. I've had the periscope vent since been in the house due to tight tolerances within the room that is also the passage between the house and garage. I cleaned out the vent (with a brush, the blower is step 2 in my process) before the new dryer came too, an insane amount of lint came out. The new dryer can test the vent and said it was 80% blocked. I cleaned again and nothing came out. So I updated the vent to what you see and it is perfect, so those periscope vents are really bad. This setup gets me 5" from the wall, which is only 1/2" more than the periscope. Got it done just in time for the dishwasher to break. :(

Purchased new laundry appliances about a year ago and have the same set up with the periscope. It was the only way our new dryer was going to fit the space. As for the blower... we got tired of setting off the carbon monoxide detector with a few quick blasts of our gas powered leaf blower and picked up a battery powered DEWALT blower, initially just for that application. Blowing out the dryer exhaust was one of the first things we did after moving in to our current home. The eruption of stuff out the side of the house was epic to say the least.

My starboard engine is not starting, dealership thinks its a swollen wear ring, but they can't get to it until next week. :(
Yes, I know I can do it myself but I just don't feel like it...

I like that, Should be what the builder put in.
That might have given me too much room. I would've had to let my wife by a front load washer and dryer. :winkingthumbsup"

Boat has been at the dealership for close to 2 months now waiting for a new steering cable to come in. Thankfully, the cable manufacture is able to make one quicker for me than the dealer can source one.... Maybe be out by the end of this month?

The weather in Washington state has been heinous this April, May, and June. I think we’ve had like 12 hours now of above 70 degrees this year and record rainfall. This next weekend is supposed to be decent so we’ll have to get there early just to get parking. We northwesterners are chomping at the bit! 😁

Wednesday night, wicked straight-line winds & 3 tornado touch-downs within 30-45 minutes from the lake house. Ton of damage to the area, my neighbor lost his entire pier, a nice Floe that was flipped and dumped 3-4 houses away, tons of trees down, etc etc etc. I lost a lot of shingles, and the power line to my boathouse was ripped from its connection points when a tree fell on it, as well as some other electrical issues that needed to be addressed. No power from Wednesday 7pm-ish until Saturday around noon, so everyone was making trips to the gas station for ice and fuel for generators.

All-in-all, the house is still standing, and I was finally able to get up there Friday. I was expecting more damage to our place, but quite thankful to find most everything was/is fixable. Still need to get some shingles and possibly some electrical cable to replace what was damaged, but I'm back home, and am waiting to hear when my electrician may be able to make it out there. Luckily, I don't need power to the boathouse, and can isolate it via 2 different methods, so I don't have to worry about someone getting electrocuted. A neighbor at home lost their house to a fire on Thursday night, so it was a pretty sobering reminder that I could have had it a lot worse. 6 different engines from 4 different cities to help out, the pic below only shows one side of the street where the house was. I think the response was so large because the house was right next to a 20-family apartment complex, and winds were still terrible and may have potentially spread. The worst damage in the neighborhood where the lake house is at is shown below as well. That birch took out the entire masthead for electrical to that house, and the other house also happens to belong to another family member, so they got the double whammy. The large tree lying next to the propane tank is around 3', and could have done a ton more damage, but all that happened was that the tank was knocked off its base, and 200-ish lbs of propane was lost. No fire, and it didn't hit the house, which likely would have done some serious damage.

Quite the eventful weekend, and no boating. Woulda been nice to meet up with @WiskyDan but Mother Nature had other ideas in mind.

Work, and lots of it, that couldn't be put off. Happy to have a house, even with all the work left by storms. Play could wait for another day.

You definitely have a legit reason. Just thought I’d lighten the mood with my bad timed joke.

Most beautiful weekend here since just before Memorial Day, when I didn’t boat because I was in PA for a birthday, and today my wife got COVID! :( But I wouldn’t be bored, the new pump for the dishwasher came today.

Did some much needed tree/brush trimming, then a few dips in the pool. Now just relaxing listening to music with a Reds enjoying the view from the deck. Resting for while for a few hours then going out for a sunset cruise with Jeannine and Willow tonight
