Yesterday was the Fourth of July, also called Independence Day, in the United States, the annual celebration of nationhood. It commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. So I was wondering what it takes to enjoy our freedom which includes so many thing from the right of free speech, the bear arms, freedom of religion and so much more. It came with a cost right rom the beginning. They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
Many lost their homes and means to make a living. Others were seperated from their love ones even while they were dying.
And since then more then 41 million Americans have serve in wars of which 1.2 million have died either in combat or from other injuries while serving and 1.4 million were wounded protecting our freedoms. So remember you do have the right to speak youur mind, to protest, albeit peacefully in my opinion, bear arms and become the success you deserve, however remember it is because of those who were willing to sacrifice their lives. So I ask that you respect our Flag and stand for the National Anthem [flag]
