Lolz! I leave for a little bit and my thread blows up! Hahahaha.

First of all THANKS to all of you guys. I really appreciate the kind comments. It's not why I do these things, I do them for myself and the enjoyment of my friends and family, not for notoriety or pats on the back. I simply like to make whatever I have work at it's best, whatever that means for whatever it is. This is just the evolution of me as a little kid modding my Aurora slot cars, Cox .049 planes or taking the muffler off my Honda 50 when I was 10 to see if it went faster. lol. It didn't. It did kind of make it sound like a Harley which I thought was cool. Except for the flames that would shoot out the pipe under the bike that could have started our property on fire, that part wasn't so smart.

The other side of it all is that I've always felt that if I didn't share what I learn, it's worthless. Everything I'd learn or experience would live and die with me, that always seemed like a stupid thing to do. I thank my dad for that, he was incredibly talented and tried to teach me everything he knew constantly. His father, also incredibly talented, did the same for my dad. So that's why I'm on here posting all these pics, simply to share and encourage others to expand their talents and enjoyment of their "stuff" a little more.

Blah blah blah. lol. Ok so I'll go in my amazon orders and copy/paste a bunch of parts I've bought for the exhaust specifically. It's a mod that's a little difficult, but not outside the realm of doable for most of you guys. Those Moroso mufflers happen to be 3", which makes them easy to graft into our exhaust systems since the hoses are also all 3". Yes, I put the stock resonators back in, I recommend keeping them in or possibly even adding them in your boat if it didn't come with them. For those of you with the older boats that don't have the plastic resonators, I'd get those before I'd do the Moroso's actually. Google Hemholtz Resonator, that's basically what they are. They're a good thing for noise control, and they're specific to a particular frequency so it's possible to eliminate 90% of exhaust noise at a certain rpm with the right sized resonator.

So yes, I have both the stock resonators AND the Moroso's in each side of my exhaust. And yes, whoever (Zipper. Good eye!) keenly noticed that I switched the outlet sides was right, I did. It was much easier and more direct to have the starboard engine exhaust out to the port outlet and vice-versa the other side. That way you don't have to make the exhaust hoses go around in a circle on the starboard side of the boat. It doesn't make any difference, it's just where it comes out of the back of the boat that's different. And as far as making any more of those outlets, I'm sorry but I'm so freakin' busy I can hardly take care of my own projects! I woke up this morning to no hot water, so today I get to fix or replace my hot water heater in our house. ugh.

Links to exhaust parts coming, hold on...

90 degree elbows that I used for re-routing the exhaust... kind of pricey but they come with 4 high quality clamps and the rubber is also top quality stuff made specifically for marine exhaust.

Really reasonably priced clamps that are way better than the stock ones...

Temp gauges...

Soundproofing foam I used in the engine compartment. I guess I didn't take or post pics of that?

Oh yeah, oil filters...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005C5C3GC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Bought one of these to make turning on and off the engine flush water... (I ordered the replacement Yamaha flush hoses but haven't gotten them yet. My little black one the boat comes with broke already. And those fittings on the back of the boat are junk too!)

Oil extractor I'm using. Way cheaper than the West Marine one and it works on air also...

Anchor winch I grafted into the anchor compartment that works awesome! Pretty involved mod though. I'm not sure I posted pics of that either...

Really nice spotlight I keep in the boat... I'll be buying another for our new motorhome...

That's all I had in my latest amazon orders. I had the Moroso's already from a car I sold but let me look for a link to them...
Here they are. Make sure to NOT use any soap or anything like WD-40 to remove or install the exhaust hoses btw. I use brake cleaner, it will loosen the rubber so you can slide them off and on, but when it dries it will actually help the rubber stick to the exhaust parts better. Using anything slippery will probably result in the hoses sliding off. What I do is slide a flat screwdriver under the rubber hose, spray some brake cleaner between the parts and wiggle the hose around to get the brake cleaner to seep around the joint so it will slide off.

There you go guys! Let me know if there's more info you need.

I am convinced I need to do the mods @gmtech16450yz has done to quite things down. I have a super hard time with backgroud noise. Hopefully they come out as good. So muffler wrap will be first in my list. My question is will removing the reaonators make things better or worse?

Removing the resonators will definitely make the exhaust louder. They're a good thing and don't hurt power.

I'd like to see the mod where he got all that stuff to fit in his dash.

Haha. That's not a super easy mod. I had to re-do the dash pad to make it a couple inches higher. I then made a completely new dash panel to mount everything on. It's obviously doable since I did it, but it's not super easy.

@gmtech16450yz you are going to get me in trouble....my Amazon cart over floweth! LOL

So the oil extractor connects to an air pump...that looks smart! Does it work well?

We are going to have to see more photos from you! That anchor looks cool!!!

Haha yeah it's not good to look back through your amazon orders! Yikes!

The oil extractor works AWESOME!!! Just hook it up to your shop air compressor and watch it suck the oil out. Way easier than pumping. If I didn't have a lift in my driveway I'd actually use it to suck the oil out of my cars instead of lifting them up and using the drain plug. It's super fast and easy.

I'll take some pics of the anchor winch, it is an amazing thing to have. I anchored in 60' of water in the Bay yesterday and didn't think twice about dropping or pulling up the anchor, simply pushed the button and watched it do all the work. Again, it took some engineering though. I'll post pics.

I think he needs to teach classes at the local community college!

Jetboaters.net mod additions....

My wife has said for years I should be a teacher. There's one big problem with that though, I'd have a hard time dealing with people that either CAN'T learn or DON'T WANT TO learn. You guys are awesome and I love sharing here because you're all open to learning new things and are smart enough to understand what I'm saying and doing. Not everyone that would walk into a college classroom would be like that.

I didn't catch that, very nice!
I have a similar extractor but minus the air-port. Still - it's a huge help, takes me 10min to change oil in my diesel, and no worries about stripping threads or crushing washers.

I would so want to see this. Did you mount it in the anchor locker? There is a lot of room there.

I've wondered about using it on my Audi, but always figured that it would be better to drain from the bottom as it would be more likely to get all the oil out, and any bits in the oil would be more likely to flow out than get sucked up???? But this last part is where I'm a novice....I guess there shouldn't ever be any metal shavings in the oil....or you have a bigger problem. But I'll defer to you expert mechanics out there. Sucking it out is ok? If so, that would save me a bunch of time pulling off protective covers under the Q7....

Lemme go fix my water heater and I'll be back later with some pics. Might be tonight.

How to get in hot water without hot water:

"Honey....why don't we have hot water yet?"

"Uhhhh....I was posting photos of the mods on the boat...remember you said I should be a teacher...I just started"
:winkingthumbsup":D

This is something I thought about last year but did not get around to. I can make the panel easy enough but would like to know how you decided to tackle the pad.

Love it! I thought my eyes were not deceiving me. In my previous life, before farming, as a mechanical eng. One of my projects was to design small pumping skids with redundancy, two pumps incase one fails, that would switch automatically, all valves and pump control. I studied your pictures and admire your work.:winkingthumbsup"

P.S. I was the one who inquired about the V8 on the Model A hub cap/rim extension cord holder. Funny how certain things catch one's eye.
