Looks good from my house!

One of the goals for this year was to find something to help the wife learn how to back up the boat a lot better, but I don't think the wireless camera would do anything to help her with those walls you've got there. I've shown her some of my more difficult docks I've had to back into, but I'd bet she would say those rocks would terrify her even more than some of the dropoffs she's seen me maneuver!

Did the landscaper throw in some gelcoat patch with his quote? 😜
I am a truck driver with close to 4 million miles, if I could offer some tips in backing up(which I told my wife repeatedly and now she's a champ at the ramp) is to 1st get the truck and trailer as close to straight as possible and be aware of what was behind you before attempting. Then put it in reverse and go very very slow (trust your mirrors) and make small movements on the steering wheel. Don't stop, that's why I say slow with constant steering wheel movement. It's when you stop the truck and try to THINK which way you think you need to turn is what messes newbies up. Never ever be afraid to pull forward a bit to straighten back up and then continue backing.

You're talking to a fellow trucker - close with mileage, and before that, multiple years in landscaping, and equipment rental before that. Backing a trailer at this point, for you and I, is ridiculously easy, but I know it's not for everyone. My two favorite phrases at my last job where we would have to share docks, and an outside carrier would be cockeyed and making it difficult for everyone else were: Did you leave your seeing eye dog at home today? and "You know we don't charge extra to pull forward and straighten out, right?"

I'm hoping the camera helps her. I truly believe some spouses won't be able to teach the other one, for whatever reason. My neighbors are the same way - I was able to teach her, while nothing he could do or say would help her in the least. He's been able to get my wife to understand the concepts, but she's never been the best driver to begin with, and adding the trailer, even for the few hundred feet I need her to do, isn't easy for her to handle.

If she would learn to pilot the boat, it would be way easier, but she absolutely won't take it off the trailer. Her reasoning is that if something happens, then she's in the boat all alone, already having made a mistake, and she'd be screwed.

One thing I never get sick of out on the boat is a nice beaver shot...

Not the greatest shot, but it's hard to get the lighting and angle just right when your wife is driving the boat and you only get a brief glimpse.

how have I never heard of Primus before, or seen any of their stuff?
They are an interesting band for sure…the opened for Rush when I saw them back in the 90’s. Recently I discovered this guy named Bucket Head, he has done a gig or two with Primus. He’s also done gigs with Guns and Roses…

You may suffer from lameness. It's not fatal, you just need to get with the program. 😜

You've likely heard something from them, you just never realized it was them.

I saw Rush in 1979 with the Dead Rats as their opener in Providence. Slept out for tickets. We were in the 5th row center. Oh, to be 18 again.

Not sure if you've seen 'em in your neck 0f the woods but in my area there's the illusive American Hairless Beaver. A site to behold when they are out

We were able to get the boat out on our home lake at Mozingo! The AR230 ran flawlessly. Our transducer started to work on our hummingbird GPS/Chartplotter, all I did was restore to factory default. My guess is since we didn’t hook the transducer up until a year later the unit didn’t recognize it, either way I’m happy I finally have depth and imaging! Water temp of 75 degrees but that didn’t stop our oldest from jumping in right away 😂

We saw a white newer 210 series on the lake as well. They were surfing and had a fat sack on the back as well. Not sure if they are on here or not, they never came to the cove so maybe next time I’ll holler at em.

Now that you’ve got the boat out and all is good, sounds like it’s time to bring it down to the gulf coast and try it out👍

First time out in 2024 and mostly relaxed at the Sand Pit on Lake Butte des Morts. Couldn’t ask for a better day - upper 70’s, mostly sunny, and light winds. Water was a little chilly but once you got in it was fine.

Some good pics from the day and a bad. First outing of 2024, our fourth season with the boat. Beautiful weather in Buffalo, NY today. Lake Erie was fairly calm as well. Great day overall. At least 3 or 4 other Yamahas on the water with us today...and a Switch.

The bad...Pulled over briefly when leaving Buffalo Harbor State Park. Was a touch too close to the curb and must have caught a seam, tore a layer of the tire. Ugh! Didn't realize it at the time and luckily made it home without issue. Well the tires are four years old and I was wondering how long they might last...and if I should pull the trigger on a switch to radials. Time to revisit the posts on that topic.

This guy opened for Tool when I saw them in Milwaukee earlier this year.....sings, plays guitar, and plays drums all at the same time........
