Shoes <what do you wear boating?>

What do you where to the lake/river/bay. What do you wear when loading unloading? What do you wear on the dock/beach? I am looking for a comfortable shoe I can where in all these situations.

Oakley flip flops.....everywhere. Sorry not much help here. They are comfortable and I can walk around in them all day without hurting my feet.

I agree with @jcyamaharider, flip flops in general. I take them off when I get on especially for cleaning. When underway I keep them on the floor behind the drivers seat and on the swim platform when cleaning.

If you insist on shoes I vote for Sperry's. They will not scuff the fiberglass, you dont need socks with them and they are pretty comfortable.

Flip flops here locally around the river. The spots we anchor up and swim are all deep enough that our feet never touch the bottom so flip flops around the docks and naked feet in the boat the rest of the day.

Around our annual central Oregon camping I wear water booties that I had from jetskiing. They have a tough rubber sole that is good on the rocks. Very handy because we anchor in about 2-3 feet of water with a very rocky walk out to the boat. If not those then fully strapped sandals work too, as they are easier to take off and put on.

Maybe I should have said foot wear instead of shoes. I live in Florida so I consider flip flops to be shoes in general. That is what I wear most of all. I have been wearing a couple different sets of Reef flip flops when out with the boat. I was just wanting to see what others wear on their feet.

I tend to wear sandals to the boat, which then come off and stay off until we are done for the day.

Adidas Flip Flops. I have had the same pair for close to 10 years and they are barely showing any wear.

Reef flip flops here. Once I'm on the boat they are in a compartment till we go to a dock or we're done for the day. The ones I wear have a "boat shoe" type sole along with a bottle opener built into the sole.

I own several pairs of Olukai flip flops. Most comfortable I have found.

I wear Fila skelitoes. They are great in sand/rock, stay on tight in water. Dry quickly and have enough of sole to wear around boat yard and dock.

These are what the whole family has. I have a pair that have traveled to Costa Rica twice, Dominican Republic, and Mexico from beach to hiking in the mountains. Wear them every boating trip. Swear by them.

I have a pair of slip-on rubber Reebok sandals that I wear. I got them YEARS ago at a last-minute stop on the way to the beach in Florida. If they slip off my foot, they float. They're cheap, rinse off easily, and they're simple.

Crocs usually when I'm boating but if I am jet skiing or just want to be a little more stylish/need more secure foot ware i use the blacktips or sperrys. $50ish per pair on line and at westmarine.

I just can't bring myself to wear the Crocs clogs. I do however have some other Crocs in their more fashionable styles.
