I remember the day we first saw our boat then bringing it home was so exciting. I still get excited and feel proud taking it out. 480 hrs on port engine and runs great, had an issue with starboard so had to replace about 3 yrs ago. Boat is in great shape and paid off so I think it will be in my future a few more years, cheaper to put new engines in it then pay 50 grand for a new one.2006 Boat.jpg

Looks great! Congrats! I'm hoping to keep mine for at least 10 or longer.

Looks good !! I love these boats !!

Thats awesome! Congrats and it still looks great as well

Congrats on 10 years.. Still looks sharp! My 230 just turned 11 with maybe 110 hours. I can't imagine shelling out $60k for the new ones either.

10 years is awesome, congrats on that. ;)

Thank You all, the boat has held up well. few minor scratches which my fiberglass guy can buff and make the boat look factory new $350. Boat is still modern looking and looks awesome sitting in the water. Have not had to do to many things to the boat, changed one impeller and wear ring, may replace steering cable soon but have only had to replace minor things to keep up. Same scupper :) the one thing that is starting to give me issues is the seats, one of them has torn at seam, starting to pick up those pesky stains that come from the back, sure wish someone produced seat covers. All in all it has been a great long lasting boat. Trick is to keep it covered, I also keep it under a canopy which really keeps the heat down and probably saved my interior this long. I am figuring if I need to re power boat my cost would be about 5-6 thousand for both motors, that includes yamaha installing them. As bad as I want a brand new boat I can justify 51000 dollars, 10 years ago I paid $29,000. This site is a blessing for all of us, It has helped me and saved me lots of time and money, Thank you Bruce and Murf and Mel and thank you to all our members.

Great looking boat! I had a 230 just like it same blue color and all. I love the 240 I have now too. I totally agree on the new boat thing, They are just getting out of a normal person being able to afford them. I will just take that cash and upgrade what I have!

The designers did a great job considering that no matter what the year, the design seems to always look current. Your boat doesn't look 10 yrs old. Hope you get another 10 out of it, and twice the amount of fun you've already had.

Congrats and a great looking boat!

Yamaha is still best bang for your buck, but they are driving alot of people out buying a new boat, Im 52 so I keep thinking do I need another big jet boat, dont get me wrong, the new boats are awesome and they do make you feel young operating them. I have no skiers or wake boarders left in the family , all grown. so boating is just me and the wife cruising and hanging out. Hell we could get by on a pair of jet ski's. I will never return to a propeller boat so maybe just a small fish series to run around on.

Next year I will be boasting about my AR 230. I looked at the new models at the Boat Show and the improvements were just not worth the trade up!

I was talking to the sales person about the 240 and mentioned I had a AR 230 and his whole attitude changed like he lost another sale. I would think he would have poured it on knowing I was fianicially capable of buying a boat, like you would get at a car dealership.

Maybe he felt that old Yamaha owners just don't trade up! And in this case he was right! Unless Yamaha gives us a cuddy or a larger head compartment. I will be holding on to my AR for a while

The bow areas on the newer boats would be the only reason I would trade up, but since I have mine just the way I like it, I am good!

March 27 marks my one year anniversary with my new to me 2009. Hope I have the same fortune and get 10 years of enjoyment out of it.

10 years has to feel great. I only have my 4th season coming up but I love owning and maintaining a boat that is 15 years old and part of the flagship history of Yamaha jet boats. Someday I will probably be looking for the original emblems to restore it to OEM.

Good looking blue Yamaha. Always been a blue fan. Maybe has something to do with our blue Exciter and blue LX 2000. Way to go on 10 years. Can't believe our "new" 09SS is 7 years old this year.

Looking good! We have had ours for 6 years and yes a few minor scuffs but other than that she just runs.

11 years on mine with no issues at all....but the flurry of stuck injectors/ECU issues we had there for a while made me nervous. I'm beginning to get a SERIOUS itch for a new boat, but like others have said....I have one now that runs great....do I really NEED all the new stuff....no....but man I do really WANT:
  1. A quieter boat
  2. Hinged seats
  3. Drive by wire throttles/gates
  4. More room in the bow in particular
  5. Changing room storage
  6. A tower
  7. A full coverage bimini
  8. Ballast would be nice
Pretty sure this describes a 242X! LOL
