Mine will be delivered today. Was hoping to install this afternoon for a weekend lake trip, but I will be holding off until we get a better response from Will and others. Hoping I don’t have to return these.

I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to finish the install this past weekend. Even If i had I won't be able to get on the water for 3 more weeks. As soon as we do get the boat on the water I'll post if we notice this as well.

For those that have installed the new Thrust Vector Wake system how many people are experiencing the heavy steering issue? I installed my system last Wednesday and have had the boat out twice, once on Friday and once Sunday. My first trip out the steering was so stiff that it took both hands to turn the steering wheel at speeds over 20 mph. Keep in mind it double check and triple checked everything before taking the boat to ensure everything was installed correctly and no issues with steering or the reverse gate. Due to the heavy steering I kept the outing fairly short as I was not able to make sharp turns while high speeds.

My first thought was it might be due to the additional thrust with the Lucky 13 cone and all spacers installed.

On my second trip out, I removed all the spacers on the Lucky 13 cone and ensure everything was functioning correctly with the TVW prior to going back out.

On my second trip out, I experienced the exact same issue and on the way in my reverse gate started to begin catching with the throttle. At this time I will be pulling the system off the boat until the issue can be resolved.

I'm just looking to find out what others experiences have been with the new system installed?
Stiff steering, 2 hands to use.. speed way cut down when turning. I will be taking out again this next weekend. I'm sure sitting in garage wont take the stiffness out of steering.

Does your right fin touch the bracket to turn? Mine rests on it.

Today we learned that there is a large difference between the 2018 190 ride plate and the 2019 190 ride plate. The difference is what is causing the heaviness on the 19 footers. The adjustment gauge sets the deflector at a specified height and when adjusted per the recommended height the fins are actively in the water at high speeds, a result that we did not intend nor will we recommend.

Our goal is to test tomorrow with a 2018 model that we just got today. Compare the results and make the changes quickly. We'll let everyone know the solution as soon as we have it. Know that we're on this and working day and night to get it resolved.

From what I can tell thus far the twin engine models have not been as consistently experiencing the heaviness. If you have installed a set and are experiencing what we would refer to as excessive heaviness in the wheel we want to know about it. Please email me directly at will@jetboatpilot.com

Our 2019 195 and our 2018 212X both have some added weight in the wheel with Thrust Vector Wake installed, but not so much that I would complain about it. Where we've seen heaviness that is worthy of complaining about would be when ballast is added but thus far from what info we've gathered from the pro's we've consulted with, heaviness is common when you load a boat down with lots of ballast.

I have a 2017 AR195 and everything clears on both sides without hitting.

Edit: on both outings no ballast was used.
1st trip 4 adults and 4 small kids.
2nd trip 2 adults and 3 small kids.

How did your steering feel at 15 mph and north?
I previously had the CJS Vipers on my boat so I was somewhat use to a little stiffer steering but the TVW required both hands to firmly turn the steering wheel.

Preparing for getting mine Wednesday ,taking off thrust vector xv's for the new wakes. My ar230 2006 only has 140 hours like new..BUT..

I GAVE BOTH MY STEERING CABLES A LUBRICATION OIL BATH..

the plan start with few variables....sure hope I don't have stiff staring with the new wakes..won't be selling old thrust vectors till I know new ones work well.. sure hope they do on mr1 high performance engines, no keel to deal with like newer boats..fingers crossed....
ANYONE WHOS intaled them and tried them out sof ar have great results?... only hearing the negativity so far.

Would love to hear about your install and how they feel on the water. Mine are sitting on the counter for my 2005 AR230HO.

Still waiting to get in the water and test them, but luckily I was double checking them and good thing. I have to remove the wake wedge ring mounted to the ladder bracket, because when the fins are up it will catch...whew close one.

We tested this morning with a 190 fsh (2018 model) and found that the steering was about like our 2019. The feel is there but not what I would consider two hands required. Felt about like driving my truck or maybe a touch heavier. Requires some force to turn the wheel but not unpleasant.

For those of you who are unsatisfied with the feel know that we're working today and the rest of this week to see if there is a way to easily modify part to make for a lighter feel. We have a couple of ideas that we're actively working and hope to feedback our findings this afternoon or tomorrow.

So it sounds like the fins are down in the water at speed. I like that idea!
Of course those are completely submerged when ballasted, too.
If you had additional fins/plates up (projecting forward of the "pivot line" of steering nozzle bolts) it would offset the force. (kind of like what the Cobra Fangs do.)

For those that upgraded to a red/blue after placing the initial order for black, I just received a shipping notification for another set of TVW's. I called to double check and it looks like they had both invoices still in their system. If you've received a second shipping notification, you may want to call JBP and let them know so you don't get a second set of TVW's that you don't need.

We checked yesterday and today. The fins are definitely out of the water at plane speed on all models we've tested with (excluding boats loaded down with ballast). The heaviness is coming from the inboard deflector feature. We're testing today with a slightly shorter version of the deflector and also this week or next with a deflector with slightly less inward bend. Hopefully we'll find a solution that will be easy to address and will minimize the feel in the wheel.

Sounds like there are no issues with the 242's, are you still shipping out orders or are all on hold? I ordered some lectrotab trim tabs almost 3 weeks ago and I am hoping that they arrive around the same time as the TV wakes so I can get everything installed over one weekend. 🤞

What is the function of the inboard deflector, are those the little tabs that get installed on each side, one on port and one on starboard?

For those of us looking for jet wash knockdown only, that bend in the deflector is not even needed.

Will, I have a couple questions.

I'm not as familiar with the 2018 190 FSH does that model have the 155mm or 160mm pump? Based on what I'm hearing regarding the cause for the heavy steering issue is the difference in the ride plate between and the deflector acting as an extended jet nozzle due the side walls on the deflector plate.

Keeping those issues in mind, wouldn't the 160mm pumps on the 195 model's create more thrust over the 155mm pumps? Second if you are running any type of aftermarket cone such as Lucky 13 creates more thrust out of the jet nozzle which would amplify the heavy steering issue due the extended jet nozzle effect created by the jet wash deflector plate on the TVW system?
