Can you do us a favor and give us the length of that plastic scupper.....I'm ballparking it at 4 inches???? One I found on Amazon is 5.5"

I would think that 5.5" one would be fine if you have enough hose to reach, more surface area for an additional clamp, as long as the outside diameter of the scupper is the same

So does this seem to be a UV breakdown of the plastic issue, or just a random plastic breaking at any time issue?

I know without UV stabilizers that PVC is only a matter of time before it fails, so I'm thinking that's the case with these scuppers, but I haven't held one of these in hand, maybe a combination of crap plastic and UV creates a nice time bomb with these things.

It seems like the plastic get brittle with age. So it just when not if. As for length, longer is ok since you could trim the hose down if needed or just push the extra forward thru the hole. Here is the hose from the engine side. It drains the back of the deck.

Cranked it with the plug open. No water. Doesn't seem to be any in the oil, but both are drained. And just to reiterate what has been stated before "what moron engineer madethe oil filter set up?" They obviously never changed oil on anything!

The Attwood 66553-3 is 5.5" overall and 5.25" from the back side of the flange to the end of the 1.5" dia barb. Are there space/placement issues on the 24' boats that require a shorter thru hull fitting?

This is a great call out. It could require some trickery to start the nut on the backside with the scupper partially extended out from the hull then drawn inward in case it's too long to start the nut with the scupper fully inserted. Soap the scupper flange at the stern before installing the deck drain hose.

Any shortening of the hose can be done at the deck side once it's fully installed at the stern and clamped.

Now, what about the hole in the anchor locker? Mine only has a plastic bit going thru no valve at all. I need to stick the gopro in there and see how much water can come in at low speeds.Are there any more of these boat sinkers hidden somewhere?

Place a puppy pad down there before removing the filter. Great tip I learned on here.

Total length (it's too short, isn't it?), outside diameter, flange width, outside diameter of the through-tube part, and a guesstimate of how short it was (if it's like mine, about half an inch from reaching all the way through, but 3/4" for proper performance.

I haven’t put my boat in the water yet so I might as well go ahead and replace the plastic scupper with a stainless steel scupper. Does anyone know the exact brand and part number for a stainless steel scupper for a 2020 AR190?

Why wouldn’t Yamaha just install a high quality part to begin with instead of a cheap plastic part that seems to be a concern for many boat owners that if it fails can literally sink the boat? What would that cost, $100?? In the world of boating $100 doesn’t even register.

What else should I go ahead and replace before I put I put my boat in the water?

For what it drains from I am almost inclined to just plug the scupper hole.

I would not recommend it. Your boat would no longer be self-bailing. If you took a wave or rain, it would stay in the boat....

Anchor hole plug. The total length is bigger than the hull thickness. This drain makes little sense to me as well. It's to high up in the locker to drain the anchor area. And the lip makes draining harder. I'd think about plugging this hole.

I have a 2020 SX195. I don't think I have Alzheimer's but I do not think there is a drain hole for the anchor locker in my bow hull area. I don't know if there is even a "gap" anywhere in the anchor locker to let water drain under the cockpit floor into the bilge. If there is a bgap I think I will 4200 it.

There is a plug in my ski storage locker and water seems to "back-up" into it and then gets into the locker, on occasion. I think I will leave that plug closed unless it should be left open to drain into the bilge?

Thoughts anyone?
