Golf Saturday and Sunday. I drank enough Trulys that it looked like a sorority sister passed out in my golf cart! Napping on the outdoor couch. God I love Spring.

Finally finished installing our new pool. Removed old pool last sunday. Took only 1/2 hour to empty 10000 gallons with my 4 inch pump. Taking all day to fill with my 1 inch water main line lol.
Hated the contrast of the old pool. Nothing was wrong with it but had roots growing under it. Dug ot out better and leveled it with a laser. Its within 1/4 inch to the lowest spot( where i want the overflowe to drain.
Bought playsand for a nice layer under the ground mat. Its super smooth on your feet now. Got 95% f the wrinkles out.

*LONG READ AHEAD*
I made a realization last week that I had left the anti-pooling poles for my Yamaha I'd recently traded in up on the shelf in my garage. Friday morning, I decided I could at the very least let the dealer, who'd since sold the boat, know that I still had them and would be willing to coordinate getting them to the new owners. In prior communication with him I was told that buyers from St. George UT (3.5 hours south) had put a deposit down on it. Here's a copy of our exchange:

My thoughts were probably the same as yours, that the salesperson could probably make a little more effort, seeming to leave it to the unaware customer to ask... I'm not really shocked, but this little bit of neglect is not the moral of this story. It turned out to be just the beginning of a series of strange events focused around my former AR240.

We had a cabinet install scheduled in town that day, just a few blocks away from our shop. We were on our way there after loading by way of a gas station restaurant. It was while sitting down waiting for our sandwiches that I had messaged the sales person about the poles. Hardly an hour later we were at the project site making our delivery. I'd already taken the first few trips into the house when, while walking up the ramp, I caught a glimpse of a boat tower protecting from behind the fence of a house in the neighboring cul-de-sac.
20220401_113824-01.jpeg
I did a double take in disbelief... AR240 tower, grey bimini, quad JL tower speakers, Monster Tower board racks, replaced back nav light, Airhead Flag holder... after making the realization, I told my brother, "I think that's my boat!" I had already told him how I was informed it had sold to some lucky individuals in St George. He was a bit more doubtful, but I kept looking over in disbelief and for reassurance. Thru some strange circumstance, I was near certain I was staring at what was my boat just mere weeks ago.

This is when my next realization came. I recognized the house the boat was flanking as being one we'd done a kitchen remodel and other cabinetry in somewhere about 7-8 years ago. I began to wonder if the owners still lived there? If so, I might actually know who bought my boat.

The day went on with our install, but I was plagued by the idea that I was going to have to do a drive-by to get further confirmation. As we started to pack up tools to call it a day, I could hear music in the background. Sure enough, 2 young men had uncovered dad's new boat to "test" the stereo. I knew it would be awkward to inquire from across 2 fences, but as soon as the music waned I yelled across with eye catching wave. Somehow, thru broken conversation, I was able to derive the boat was in fact my former family member and one of the boys was the son (now 8 years older) of the family whose house we'd worked on. After dropping my brother off back at the shop to make his way home I made the decision to swing by again to see if the 16-17yr old (I'm guessing) was still chilling with his friend. He was. I pulled in the driveway and made a better introduction. We were mutually surprised by the revelation. He was able to inform me how the sale to the buyers I was informed of prior had actually fell thru and they were 2nd in line. Later that evening I messaged the boys father (or former client) and related all the happenings. I told him I'd bring by the anti-pooling poles to deliver them this week.

Seems like a convenient place to end the story right...? Nope! As fate would have it, I'm standing in line with my family at a local restaurant just about to order when this same guy and his wife, neither of which I've seen in 7ish years step in line directly behind us. 🤯 we had a good chat and I filled him in on what a treasure his new Yamaha is. I informed him how the universe has brought us together. Our mutual diety must have it in mind for us to co-parent his boat.

Anyway, they're pretty stoked and so am I!

Update on the laundry room shower stall. We pressed it into service to wash the dogs off during mud season. A little more to complete before tile like a couple of grab bars, blocking is in, but it makes a big difference already.

Partial success, pulled the fuel sender/pickup, the sock/filter on pickup was split and barely on, tank looked empty, put sender back in, added 10gal and it started right up and idled for 10 minutes before we turned it off, new parts on order! Tank looked pretty clean though

Finally home (after a cancelled flight) from my first time to Augusta National. Met my dad there for Monday’s practice round. They allow digital cameras for practice rounds (still no cell phones). The cliché adage that it’s impossible to put words to the experience is so true. Unforgettable memories.

Yes, the pimento cheese is awesome. Yes, I spent too much money at the merchandise shop.8B6B9EA1-85E0-405F-A0E7-5CC409543DBE.jpeg894B938E-246A-4D02-8B6D-192357723493.jpeg7C19B498-F512-488C-A6D2-61197365F613.jpeg31CA0935-713B-44F9-ACFF-3DC4A44211CA.jpegAA65CE0E-EA53-4C9A-A074-1108DDA0BFBB.jpegF9E7DC7F-07DA-4AF6-92E4-EADBD034A890.jpeg

Locked in a 30 day mortgage rate 4 weeks ago. Moved into our new home two weeks ago. Closing set tomorrow to convert the construction loan to a regular mortgage loan. The Loan Specialist e-mails me last Friday, loan underwriters are asking is the yard seeded?

Guess what I spent three days doing?
