A Bugatti would be cool to see on the road, but do you really need 4 turbos and 12 radiators? At the end of the day, it’s still a VW and you can only go so fast in the states. Makes me think the owner is over compensating for something… when I was in Crewe England a few years back, I was working in the same city where the Bentleys are manufactured and saw at least 12 every morning. Wild to see that many at one intersection, but probably won’t see that many in my life in the states. It is also where the Bentley from The Grand Tour is housed.
Seen quite a few around Naples but we have the uber wealthly around these parts. $500k cars are the daily beater in some hoods around here.

If I really wanted to see a Bugatti I would take a trip to Apple headquarters. My chances of seeing one or a few there are high. I remember my first trip to Apple was over 15 years ago, the parking lot looked like an exotic car show. When I worked there over 5 years ago the car to have was a Tesla. Not sure what’s trending there now but suspect it’s Rivians and Lucids, as well as more McClarens.

Haven’t seen many Lucid’s around, the ones I have seen, I am impressed. Still priced way outside the average market, but like anything (including Tesla) the more you make, it will drive down the cost of manufacturing and pass the saving on to the consumer (hopefully).

A few weeks back I had this Aston Martin DBX707 on a weekend test drive. It was fast for an suv platform and sounded awesome in sport mode. The interior was visually intriguing but the seats were very narrow and uncomfortable…and I’m a medium sized guy. Still not sure why somebody would spend the $250k on a fast suv but as the saying goes “smoke ‘em if you got ‘em”.

Maybe it is the picture, but that looks cheap for the price tag. Not a fan.

Well I am amused that people would spend that kind of money on a vehicle like that.......... Unfortunately, I wish I was someone who could :(

Out by the pump shed today pulling taps and I see where the USDA put two of their raccoon traps as part of their wildlife rabies vaccination program. She showed me her trap route on our property. Counted about 15 out there. We give them permission to do this. Two traps with marshmallows dosed with RABORAL V-RG® rabies vaccine.

At the end of the day, I like my 2016 Honda CRV. Cost about $20k new, has 0 appealing design qualities, but has a high level of Honda quality, low cost of owner ship and gets about 30-34mpg on the freeway. At the end of the day, I go just as fast as the $100k+ corvettes around here. I would rather spend that extra cash by being on the water with friends and family where almost every other boater will wave to you opposed to giving you the finger when you pass them. Would I like to have one of these fancy cars? Sure, but at the end of the day, I drive back and forth to work and use the wife’s Yukon XL to tow the boat. Maybe when I hit the lottery I will splurge, but it’s going the opposite direction. I have my eye on two dream cars. One from the 80s and one from the mid/late 90s.

I'm in the "Happy medium" of expensive cars, vs soul sucking toasters on wheels. I spend entirely too much time in the car to not have it be at least a somewhat nice and entertaining experience.

I don't need a Bugatti, or Aston Martin, but I'm not gonna spend 90min a day in a Scion either. Everyone spends their nickels different, and who are we to judge the value they gain from those spendings.

I agree completely. For my 10 mile 4 left turn commute to work, my car does what I need. When I used to travel for work, I made sure I had leather and heated seats. To buy a sports car in America where I can’t ever use it for its intended purpose “Legally” I will stick with what I have. My average speed to and from work is probably 45mph. If I was in Europe, it would be a completely different conversation as the European models of our cars are significantly different. Now for my sports car pick of choice is my step moms 1987 Toyota Corolla GTS AE86. For the JDM fans on the forum, she purchased this car new as a 4AG black top 5 speed RWD for $12k new. Today it’s worth over $15k and a rolling shell sells for $5k. Now… back to boats 😉
edited to add some photos... Dad was bored and decided to shoot it from the "back to the future grey" to this blue. I think it looks better. He also shot the wheels with some black highlights.

I never needed a luxury car until I drove one. But I can say the same for everything. Sometimes it's better to be ignorant. "want to try my seadoo rxt-x?" "no, I dont want to know"

LOL. I have seen a decrease in cars from my father in laws cars over the years as he reached retirement, but sport bikes seem to increase. His cars went from a Porsche to a BWM to a Audi to a VW to a Volvo to a Honda Fit. But his sport bikes went from a BMW K1200S to a Triumph 1050GT to a KTM 1290 Super Duke. I guess where you downgrade in one, you upgrade to another....

I was never into bikes, however, I did have the Cadillac Allante and a BMW Z3. In retirement I drive a 2012 F250 Diesel. Not sure that is an upgrade [flag]

John, with y’all being retired and able to leave whenever you want with either the boat or the trailer, I most definitely say it’s an upgrade! :winkingthumbsup"
