My friend invited me to this lake house in Guatapé, Colombia where they were celebrating a birthday. There's history here with pablo escobar who owned a house here and there's a famous photo of him riding a jet ski here. I rented a car and drove out there Saturday night. We had plans to rent a boat yesterday, but the weather didn't cooperate. On the way home I messed up and hit the side wall of the tire and had to put the spare on in the rain. I paid less than $10 to have the sidewall patched (they don't do this in america so I was skeptical)
Guatape is very nice. A lot of cool things to do there. There's also a lot of nice glamping spots there in guatape with jaccuzzi's and very romantic.
I should be going to do wakeboarding there in a few weeks. I found a company that does wakeboarding. At the current exchange its $68/hr for a basic boat for wakeboarding. And $136/hr for a malibu. Both include driver and instructions. The water is warm, but it can be chilly outside of the water. Definitely need to bring my wetsuit top next time I visit NY.
Crappy pic but this is a Lamborghini Uros that I’ve seen locally a few times now, she was coming back from the car show (mostly corvette) held at the marina. I would not be surprised if it was the most expensive car there.

Unbelievable how bland that looks. It may just be the camera angle, but it looks like an Audi that's been sat on and squished. The status and speed isn't worth the utility that's been designed out of it, IMO, but I'm old and don't care if someone goes nuts over my vehicle. If they offered the V8 in the Toyota version of my car, I wouldn't even think twice about the fancy "L" on mine.
Someone around here had a Lambo boat, and it actually seemed to be more of a nuisance than enjoyable. Too big for the stops along the river, and the truck required to haul it was way more cumbersome on the roads than it seemed worth, but different strokes... ?
If you fly into DFW Airport and see the reroof project on Terminal A, that would be my project. I designed and sold the system they are installing. It's a little over a half of a mile from one end to the other. I was out yesterday doing an interim inspection with my field tech rep. Unbelievable how complicated this project is, and they are running crews 24 hours with 2 crews working at night removing the existing roofing system before the day crews show up. Roughly 60 guys on the project daily.
I just saw this on the way to work today. Another Lamborghini Uros in crappy pics. I think it looks nice but not $300k plus nice. The only car I haven’t seen on the road that I would like to is a Bugatti (sp?).

A Bugatti would be cool to see on the road, but do you really need 4 turbos and 12 radiators? At the end of the day, it’s still a VW and you can only go so fast in the states. Makes me think the owner is over compensating for something… when I was in Crewe England a few years back, I was working in the same city where the Bentleys are manufactured and saw at least 12 every morning. Wild to see that many at one intersection, but probably won’t see that many in my life in the states. It is also where the Bentley from The Grand Tour is housed.
