Does anyone have information on 2025 MY? When does that typically come out? Will the supercharged boats get the new 1.9 motors?

If you look through the 2024 model Year threads you will see that the plan is to SC the 1.9L’s next year. Further, if you look through the other model year info you will will have a good idea when the next years models are released and when they hit the show room floor.

@Julian puts together this awesome spread sheet with features each year as well.

Any rumors? I have none this year.

I'm not hearing much this year either but they did say this in a letter a sent out to dealers: "
  • Be the first to experience the 2025 products, including a new platform unlike anything launched in Yamaha WaterCraft history."

Last thing they need is innovation. They can't even get fiberglass and gel coat right.

There have been spy photos posted on a couple sites but Yamaha has "requested" their removal and the photos have been purged from the internet as far as I can tell. Like a dumba$$ I didn't save the pics when I saw them.

The biggest difference between Tattoos, emails and photos on the Internet, is you can have a tattoo removed.

I smell a jet powered pontoon to keep up with SeaDoo, or a higher end jet powered pontoon from one of their subsidiaries with a swim platform and swim up seats. I would be interested in a more Deck boat style Yamaha that had the capacity of a pontoon. Think 25' SeaDoo Islandia with twin 1.9's and a Swimplatform.

And then this photos was floating around back in March of a Waverunner based vessel being tested by Yamaha.

Over the weekend, social media was buzzing with speculation after a grainy cell phone image emerged of Yamaha Motor Corp. USA engineers testing a prototype WaveRunner-based vessel. Snapped from a passing boat on Allatoona Lake, the spied prototype employs existing FX WaveRunner seats, handlebars and portions of the deck; the dashboard, forward fairings and bow storage have been replaced by a durable – albeit temporary – structure and large digital screen standing on an aluminum strut.

Appearing to have large foot-to-two foot wide footwells and a thick gunwale, the Yamaha boat rides on a widened hull with a deep-set outside chine and splash deflector. Observers were quick to note that the prototype appeared to be incomplete and wholly missing its top deck cover. Powered by an existing TR-1 3-cylinder or new-for-2024 1.9L High Output marine engine, this Yamaha boat would enjoy the reliability of the WaveRunner jet-drive propulsion system and fuel delivery system.

Pics of what ?

Pics of what ?

That photo above may be indicative of a test mule that could be set into a different shaped hull. Similar to what the SeaDoo Switch does. Look at how wide that beast is!

Yamaha has also not addressed the large population of PWC fisherman as well. I would not be surprised to see some sort of transformation type boat like the Shuttlecraft, or Sealeaver. These crossover type boats and the Switch are gateway drugs to get PWC owners into boating.

I know my Shuttlecraft, back in the day, did that for me. As soon as there was room for a cooler and a couple honeys, it was game on! (usually ended up being dudes, but you get the idea)

PS: these were shot 20 years ago and I powered that Shuttlecraft with a GP1200r Waverunner!
